A Time-Saving Shortcut for Planet Scanning in Starfield

This will save you a ton of time.

Exploring the vast universe of Starfield can be thrilling, but for completionists, the task of fully surveying planets can be overwhelming. The process usually entails scanning every Mineral, Fauna, and Flora, with the latter two requiring multiple scans for completion. This extensive endeavor may have led you to wander endlessly in search of that last elusive Flora or face hostile creatures up close for scans.

Fortunately, there's a shortcut that not only saves time but also provides valuable materials. YouTuber LtBuzzLitebeer has revealed this helpful trick: Flora is automatically scanned when you harvest it, and killing Fauna creatures also registers as a scan.

For many players, this discovery is a game-changer. No longer do you need to approach potentially dangerous Fauna to scan them manually. Instead, you can eliminate hostile creatures from a safe distance, increasing the Fauna scanning percentage significantly.

One effective method involves luring a group of hostile creatures toward you and then dispatching them with a well-placed landmine, instantly boosting your Fauna scan progress. While this approach may seem aggressive, it's worth noting that Fauna in Starfield often meets unfortunate fates during your adventures, so this method merely expedites the process.

For Flora, the process is more straightforward. Harvesting Flora to gather resources automatically triggers the scan. Keep in mind that this method may require you to get up close to the Flora, but you can still scan most objects from a comfortable distance of 20 meters.

With this time-saving technique, you can efficiently progress toward completing your planetary surveys in Starfield without the frustration of manual scans and the risks associated with approaching hostile creatures.
