AFK Journey: Banners Full Guide

AFK Journey is the newest idle gacha game by Lilith Games, and like any other gacha game the main focus of AFK Journey are its heroes.

Getting heroes in AFK Journey is done through their wishing system and three banners which we’ll look at in this guide.

All-Hero Recruitment

The All-Hero Recruitment is the first banner that players are introduced to and it is also the banner where you will be spending most of your currency. 

In the All-Hero Recruitment you can receive heroes from all factions, excluding Celestial / Hypogean. In this banner you can get both A and S-level heroes.

To wish on the All-Hero Recruitment banner you will be using Invite Letters and Diamonds. Each pull costs 1 Invite Letter or 300 Diamonds, however, when you do a 10 pull you get a slight discount and can do it for only 2700 Diamonds.

This means that you should always do 10 pulls if you are using Diamonds to wish.

Pity

The Pity system on the All-Hero Recruitment banner is quite simple. Each 10 pull you are guaranteed to get an A-level hero and the pity for S-level heroes starts at 10 pull, but gradually increases each time you get an S-level hero. 

The pity for S-level heroes goes up to 60, and then it doesn’t increase any more.

Meaning that once you reach 60 pity you will always get an S-level hero when you do 60 pulls.

Rates

The rates for this banner are slightly lower than what you would get on the Epic Recruitment banner, however, they aren’t all that bad given compared to other gacha games. The rates for the All-Hero Recruitment are as follows:

• S-level hero - 2.05%
• A-level hero - 22.5%
• Faction Acorn x30 - 0.5%
• Faction Acorn x4 - 15%
• Faction Acorn x1 - 59.95%

Epic Recruitment

The Epic Recruitment is the second banner that you get straight away and this banner is slightly more premium than the All-Hero Recruitment banner, but at the same time it also offers better rates.

You will be using  Epic Invite Letters to pull on the Epic Recruitment banner, and that is the only way that you will be able to pull on it. You won’t be able to use Diamonds like in the All-Hero Recruitment.

Epic Invite Letters are the premium pulling currency in the game and can be obtained from the game’s various sources such as shops, game modes and progressing through the story.

However, thanks to this not only does this banner have better pity, but also better rates for S-level heroes.

Pity

The pity for the Epic Recruitment banner works the same way as the All-Hero Recruitment where you originally can get an S-level hero at 10 pity and this gradually increases.

However, the pity for S-level heroes in the Epic Recruitment goes up to a maximum of 30, meaning you will get an S-level hero every 30 pulls.

The pity for the A-level heroes is the same, and you will be guaranteed at least 1 A-level hero every 10 pulls.

Rates

As already mentioned the rates for the Epic Recruitment are way better than the All-Hero Recruitment giving players a higher chance of getting S-level heroes. The rates for the Epic Recruitment banner are as follows:

• S-level hero - 5.22%
• A-level hero - 18.75%
• Faction Acorn x30 - 1%
• Faction Acorn x4 - 25%
• Faction Acorn x1 - 50.03%

The % for the S-level heroes here is more than double that of the All-Hero Recruitment meaning that you will surely want to pull here if you have the Epic Invite Letters.

Stargaze

Stargaze is the third and final banner that will be available in AFK Journey at launch, this banner will allow players to pull for Celestial and Hypogean heroes.

However, unlike the previous two banners the Stargaze has a requirement that must be fulfilled before you can unlock it.

To unlock the Stargaze banner you must first do 400 pulls combined between the All-Hero Recruitment and Epic Recruitment banner, so for F2P players the Stargaze might take some time to unlock.

But when you do you will finally be able to start getting Celestial and Hypogean heroes. Apart from the Celestial and Hypogean heroes you will also be able to receive Diamonds, Dazzling Stone and Ruin Stones.

Unfortunately, you cannot use Diamonds to pull on the Stargaze banner. The way you pull on this banner is by using a currency known as Stellar Crystals, which you can only obtain from the Guild and Recruitment Stores.

This means that even if you do unlock this banner you will still need a bit of time before you can start getting heroes from it.

Pity

The pity for the Stargaze banner is unlike the previous two banners and is set at 40 from the start.

After you reach 40 pulls you are guaranteed to obtain a Celestial or Hypogean hero of your choosing and the pity will reset, but will not increase, remaining constantly at 40.

Rates

The rates for this banner aren’t the greatest, however, they aren’t all that bad either.

Before pulling you will choose the Celestial or Hypogean hero you wish to pull for, and after this you’ll have a 3.25% chance to obtain them in each pull.

Conclusion

The banners in AFK Journey are surely going to be the place where most players spend a bulk, if not all of their resources and will also be the bringer of joy or sadness for a lot of the community.
