AFK Journey dropped an 8-minute video on their official media channels, giving us a preview into a ton of new content coming to the game soon.
The introduction of a new Hypogean hero took up a small part of this video. Phraesto will join AFK Journey on June 6th and will be the first new Hypogean hero since the game’s release. The video revealed some of his skills, but there is still much around his kit that is shrouded in mystery.
In this article, we’ll look at everything we know about Phraesto so far.

Phraesto Release Date
Phraesto will be released on June 6th and will become the 3rd Hypogean hero in AFK Journey. The announcement regarding his release came quite suddenly, as no one was expecting the developers behind AFK Journey to drop a new hero given that Soren’s rate-up banner is still ongoing.
Given that Phraesto is a Hygoean hero, the process to get him will likely be different than a normal rate-up banner, and we will likely have to resort to the Stargaze Station to obtain him, which, as most of us know, is not going to be ideal.
Another way in which we’ll likely be able to get Phraesto is through the Guild Store, as all other Hypogean and Celestial heroes are available for purchase there.
However, that too is open to speculation, and we’ll give you a more in-depth look at how to get Phraesto when we have more information.

Phraesto Skills
Currently, we only have information about some of Phraesto's skills and, unfortunately, do not have a full overview of his kit. However, from what we know, Phraesto is going to be a tank hero that features mechanics similar to those of Berial and Thoran.
One of his passives gives you a copy of Phraesto, which you can place on the field to act as a pseudo-ally. Additionally, Phraesto can also give buffs to heroes who are directly placed behind him, which works similarly to Thoran’s M+ skill.
All in all, he seems like an interesting addition to the game, and given how strong other Hypogean and Celestial heroes are, he is sure to make an impact in the meta. Below, you can see a description of his currently known skills.
NOTE: Below you can see only some of Phraesto's confirmed skills. All of the information regarding Phraesto's skills is subject to change before release.
