Fastest and Best Way to Improve FPS Aim

Everyone knows that aiming is one of the most important aspects of an FPS game but nobody talks about how to get better at it. There are even some who would go as far as to say that gamesense is more important and that is perfectly fine.

A lot of people doubt the use of aim trainers like KovaaK's and Aimlab without even trying them and when they finally force themselves to try, they don't know what to practice and end up completely abandoning the idea of aim training.

Let's take a look at some common myths and what you should be doing instead.

How to Improve Aim on PC

Sensitivity

The most common misconception about aiming is that if you change your sensitivity you will destroy your muscle memory and not be able to aim for a while.

This couldn't be further from the truth as changing your sensitivity can be quite useful to master different parts of your arm/wrist for aiming. A perfect sensitivity doesn't exist. Try out different sensitivities until you find one that suits your gameplay and feels comfortable.

The only way to get better with a sensitivity is to find one that feels comfortable enough for the game you are playing and then practice with it.

You can check this video from the aimer "Viscose" for a more in-depth explanation.

Wrist or Arm

The question of whether using your wrist or arm is better for aiming. The answer is - both. Everyone is different and some people might feel more comfortable using more wrist than arm or vice versa depending on their sensitivity and previous experience.

This video from the official Kovaak's YouTube channel explains arm vs. wrist very well.

Best Way to Improve FPS Aim

There is no shortcut to becoming better at aiming. Everyone is different and some things may work for someone while others find a different way. Each step is just as important as the next and when combined, climbing a mountain doesn't seem so impossible.

It will take time to reach the aim of Valorant pro player, "florescent," but if you remove your mental blocks and train consistently, you can do it.

Practice daily

The most important part of aiming is to practice every day, even if it's only a 10-minute session. Consistency is key and that will help way more than playing for prolonged periods on random days whenever you feel like it.

Mindset

The second most important aspect of aim training is the way you think before, during, and after. You would be surprised how far you can go just by being confident and thinking positively.

Furthermore, don't think that once you reach a certain goal or achievement you have reached your limit. There's no such thing as a limit. There's only improvement and dedication.

Scenarios

Most of the time if your goal is to get better at only a single game, you are better off playing that game instead of aim training. If you still feel the need to aim train or just want to improve your aim in general, focus on scenarios specific to the games you want to get good at.
You can always search for Valorant, CS2, Apex, etc. in the playlist section of the aim trainers.

Gamesense

Gamesense is very broad and game-specific. It can mean many different things like learning the recoil pattern of a gun, peeking, movement, and mastering your crosshair placement to be always at head height which falls into the aiming category as well.

All of these things can be practiced in-game via deathmatches if such an option exists or just by simply playing the game.

Target weak areas

The fastest way to get better at something is to focus all your attention on it and practice it daily.
Record your gameplay of a match you felt like you could've done better in, then watch it thoroughly to find out mistakes you didn't catch while playing. This same concept can be applied to aim training as well.
