Alan Wake 2 is a game full of strange and exciting moments, set in a creepy place called the Dark Place. As you try to get out, you'll find special glowing drawings known as Words of Power that give you helpful bonuses.Our guide shows you where to find all 27 of them in the game.
You'll come across these Words of Power while playing as Alan, the main character, in the Dark Place. Keep an eye out for arrows that pop up when you shine your light on walls—they'll lead you to these helpful drawings. To unlock a perk, just stand in the right spot and wait for the screen to shake a bit.
Remember, each drawing gives you a different kind of help. Some make you better at fighting, while others help you heal or fix things.

Words of Power:
Main Plaza - Initiation 2: Casey
In the Main Plaza in chapter Initiation 2: Casey you will find 6 Words of Power. They're hidden near alleyways, above doorways, and even between air conditioners. Follow the in-game arrows and use your flashlight to discover them.

Word of Power#1 (Word of Fix)
- Look for a shining arrow in the alley by Casey. It'll lead you to the first drawing above a doorway.

- There's one near where the trash cans are, right outside where they do talk shows.

- Over on Draft Street, shine your light up at the railway to find another one.

- Use your special lamp on a post near Caldera Street Station. Follow the steps you find to a save point and look for an arrow pointing to the next drawing.
Word of Power#5 (Word of Gun)

- By the police car, use your lamp and then look on the building wall after dealing with some bad shadows.

- Next to the police car from the previous one, find a ladder in the alley, climb it, then check between two big air units.
Subway - Initiation 2: Casey
In the Subway part of the same chapter, the Words of Power are tucked away in tricky spots like abandoned trains, construction sites, and behind walls you can only see by changing reality with your flashlight. Some areas might be blocked off later, so it's a good idea to grab these perks as you go through the chapter.

- Down in Caldera Street Station, before it gets too dark, find a left-behind train and use your lamp to show the hidden drawing.

- Walk past the first place you can save in the subway and look around the construction stuff for arrows that lead to the next bonus.

- After the big Collapsed Tunnel, make a cart vanish with your lamp to get into a room with the drawing on the wall.

- When the Derailed Train scene comes up, look at the ceiling.

- Change the Derailed Train scene, go through the mess, and then down a ladder to find arrows that tell you where to shoot and reveal the drawing.

- Right after the last one, get rid of some more bad shadows and check behind the ticket booth's wall where it says "Lost."

- At Shrine Street Station, look in the wet area on your left for an arrow and the drawing on the far wall.

Streets/Back Alley/Rooftops - Initiation 5: Room 66
In this chapter of the game your goal is to get to the Oceanview Hotel. Your only way is through the back alley and the rooftops. Here you will find 4 more words of power.

- From the water tank, go left and down some metal stairs. Listen for Tim Breaker humming and find a crawlspace under the walkway for another drawing.

- On the southern rooftops, follow the glowing arrows to a metal board with the drawing on it.

- On the northern rooftops, there's a tricky one. Find a doorway with downward triangles and spot the drawing on a water tank. Be sure to get it from the right angle or it might not work.

- Look at the wall on the left side of the street before the alley and rooftop path, near the Oceanview Hotel.
Oceanview Hotel - Initiation 5: Room 66
Once you get into the hotel, you will find 3 more Words of Power.

- Get the key to Room 104 and use it to get to Room 225. Then, go to Room 224, break the wooden board, and check the bathroom wall for the drawing.

- When you get to the cinema, go up to the lobby's second floor and check along the right side.

- On the cinema's ground floor, go into the left bathroom. There's a storage room behind the stalls, and you'll find the drawing on the ceiling there.

- After you leave the Theater Hall and see the Out in the Night Scene, change the scenes around until you can go through a door highlighted by a police car's light. On the rooftop, face away from the spotlights and look for the drawing on a lower right wall. These are very special and not found often.

- From the last rare drawing, cross to the other side of the rooftop. Listen for Tim Breaker humming and find a small space under the walkway on the right. This leads to his little room. Then, look at the water tank to spot the last drawing.
