All Trade Authority Locations in Starfield: A Comprehensive Guide

The Trade Authority is your one-stop-shop for selling almost anything you come across in Starfield, except for quest-specific items, which the game prevents you from selling.

Bethesda

In the vast expanse of Starfield's playable galaxy, finding merchants and stores to buy and sell items is crucial. With the abundance of loot to be discovered, it's a blessing to have access to various trading options. Among them, the Trade Authority stands out, and it operates stores and kiosks in major cities, catering to all factions and willing to bend the rules for the sake of a deal. While they might be among the shadier vendors in the game, they are your best bet when it comes to selling your goods.

Credit Limits at Trade Authority Locations:

The total number of credits available for purchasing your items at Trade Authority locations is generally consistent, though there might be slight variations:

  • Trade Authority Stores: Typically, these stores have around 12,000 credits.

  • Trade Authority Kiosks: Kiosks tend to offer approximately 5,000 credits.

Bear in mind that both stores and kiosks will replenish their credits every 24 in-game hours. To expedite this process, find a nearby chair, bench, or bed to pass the time. It's essential to note that these 24 hours must match the local time on the planet you're on.

What Can You Sell at the Trade Authority?

The Trade Authority is your one-stop-shop for selling almost anything you come across in Starfield, except for quest-specific items, which the game prevents you from selling. If it fits in your inventory, you can sell it at the Trade Authority. This makes it the ideal place to unload your loot.

For players inclined towards the contraband trade, the Trade Authority is a valuable ally, as it's one of the few vendors willing to accept your illegal goods, provided you have shielded cargo to evade pesky scanners. However, it's important to note that contraband items cannot be sold at Trade Authority kiosks; you'll need to visit a Trade Authority building and speak to its vendor.

Here are some non-quest-specific item categories that you can sell:

  • Weapons
  • Spacesuits
  • Packs
  • Helmets
  • Apparel
  • Throwables
  • Ammo
  • Aid
  • Notes
  • Miscellaneous

Trade Authority Locations:

While Trade Authority kiosk locations are more plentiful and found in nearly every major spaceport, Trade Authority store locations are more limited. Below is a list of known Trade Authority store locations:

1. The Well Trade Authority:

  • Location: New Atlantis on the planet Jemison, Alpha Centauri system.
  • Directions: Visit The Well area in the city, but note that accessing it requires some walking, even after unlocking fast travel options.

2. The Den Trade Authority:

  • Location: Orbit around Chthonia, Wolf system.
  • Directions: The Den offers convenience as you're not scanned upon entering the system or boarding the station. The Trade Authority is a few steps away from The Den's entrance.

3. Cydonia Trade Authority:

  • Location: Mars, Sol system.
  • Directions: While more convenient than The Well, visiting the Cydonia Trade Authority involves being scanned before landing on the planet.

4. Akila City Trade Authority:

  • Location: Akila, Cheyenne system.
  • Directions: After landing at Akila City, head past the main gate and locate the Trade Authority shop just beyond it.

5. Neon Trade Authority:

  • Location: Neon, orbiting Volii Alpha, Volii system.
  • Directions: The Neon Trade Authority is situated next to the main entrance elevator, offering an accessible trading point.

6. The Key Trade Authority:

  • Location: The Key, home to the Crimson Fleet pirate faction, Kryx system.
  • Accessibility Note: Accessing The Key is challenging until you find a way to befriend the Crimson Fleet, likely via an undercover mission for the UC SysDef.

Please note that the list of Trade Authority locations is a work in progress, and additional locations will be added as they become available in the game.

Having the Trade Authority as your trade partner can make your life in Starfield a lot easier, offering you credits for your loot and a way to handle contraband if that's your business. So, whether you're a seasoned trader or just starting your journey, these Trade Authority locations will come in handy for your galactic adventures.
