Weapon Changes in Apex Legends
Some of the most impactful updates in Apex Legends patches often relate to weapon balance. This time, a few guns saw damage adjustments:
R99 SMG
The R99 SMG had its damage reduced from 12 to 11. This subtle change could push the R99 out of favor compared to alternatives.
- Damage reduced to 11 (was 12)
CAR SMG
CAR SMG also took a damage nerf, from 13 down to 12. It remains to be seen how much this impacts the CAR's viability.
- Damage reduced to 12 (was 13)
Mastiff
The Mastiff shotgun received several buffs - faster reload times, quicker draw time, etc. This could help the Mastiff compete with the other weapons a bit more.
- Tactical reload time reduced to 0.9 (was 1.03)
- Empty reload time reduced to 1.6 (was 1.7)
- Draw Time reduced to 0.45 (was 0.8)
Additionally, the R-301 rifle and Volt SMG are returning to floor loot after being removed from the crafter. In their place, the Hemlok and Alternator will now require crafting to obtain.
