Apex Legends Season 19 - Weapon Tier List

The Worst and Best Guns in Apex Legends Season 19

Apex Legends Season 19 - Weapon Tier List
Respawn Entertainment

With recent minor adjustments in buffs and nerfs in season 19, it's time to create an updated weapons tier list. Please note that care package guns, known for their exceptional strength, will not be part of this Tier List.

D Tier

RE45 Auto P2020

The RE45 and P2020, while fun, unfortunately lack power. Requiring a gold hop-up to be effective, these pistols objectively fall short compared to other close-range weapons like the Volt and Alternator. These alternatives offer better damage, range, versatility, and usability, solidifying the pistols in the D tier.

C Tier

Rampage LMG  M600 Spitfire

The Rampage and Spitfire, two LMGs, have shown some improvement with recent changes. However, they don't match up well in mid and close-range fights, losing significant power in these crucial combat areas. While they offer high damage per magazine, they struggle in shorter-range engagements. Beginner players may find these LMGs easier to handle due to their larger magazine size, but they falter against guns with higher damage output and versatility, especially in the hands of more accurate players.

The Rampage relies heavily on thermite grenades to be effective. While these LMGs might work well at range when paired with a support Legend, their effectiveness remains limited to specific scenarios, preventing them from achieving a higher ranking.

B Tier

Mozambique Shotgun

The Mozambique can be enjoyable to use, and holds up well in the early game even without attachments. It offers a faster aim-down-sights (ADS) speed compared to shotguns or SMGs. However, its consistency can be a challenge for most users, and its overall burst potential lags behind other shotguns, leading to its lower ranking.

Longbow DMR Sentinel Charge Rifle

The Longbow, Sentinel, and Charge Rifle are all weapons used for long-range combat in Apex Legends. However, these sniper are slow, unwieldy, and inconsistent. Their lack of versatility doesn't align with the preference for adaptable and consistent weaponry in Apex. For example, compare the effectiveness of an AR paired with an SMG to using a sniper with an SMG in close to mid-range battles, where most confrontations take place.

Snipers excel in dealing chip damage, draining resources, and boosting Evo Shields. However, in Apex Legends, eliminating enemies takes longer, and snipers rarely secure one-shot kills, unlike in other games.

Triple Take

The Triple Take is currently in a reasonably okay state. It's not particularly outstanding, yet not the worst either. It falls somewhere in the middle. It functions adequately in close-range combat, but it lacks specialization compared to most rifles and shotguns, making survival against them harder. Additionally, its performance at range is just passable. While it may not be as excellent as other available choices, it's not terrible either.

Devotion LMG

The Devotion dishes out a significant amount of damage when utilized, but it still requires a hop-up for optimal functionality. It rapidly drains ammo, posing a substantial challenge. It's also notably challenging to control. As an LMG, it carries the usual drawbacks.

L-STAR EMG

The L-STAR is somewhat of an anomaly this season. It's no longer part of the care package and has received some significant buffs. These buffs notably reduce the recoil, enhance the recoil pattern, and increase the damage from 17 to 16 per body shot. Its improved barrel further decreases recoil, making it function like a laser, incredibly easy to use, and offering a much higher DPS compared to other LMGS, except for the DVO.

When you factor in that it technically never requires reloading if used properly, these qualities elevate its rank. With these changes, the L-STAR is likely to witness increased play and usage.

Volt SMG

The Volt, showcases damage output similar to the Alternator with Disruptor Rounds against a target with maximum armour, though it slightly falls short. While the Volt proves fun in the early game, its efficacy diminishes rapidly in comparison to other SMGs.

When selecting between the Alternator without Disruptor Rounds and the Volt, the Volt seems the preferable choice. It remains a good option for the early game.

The Volt has regrettably receded from its former glory since its nerf to bullet velocity, reducing its effectiveness, particularly at range. These changes have collectively reduced its overall performance.

A Tier

Eva 8 Auto
EVA-8_Auto.png

The Eva 8 is a suitable choice if you struggle with consistency while using shotguns, especially when engaging at extremely close range. It's essential to be in very close proximity to your opponents to maximize its effectiveness, and that's where it tends to falter.

However, it's worth noting that shotguns are primarily designed for close-range combat, where the Eva 8 excels.

The challenge arises when enemies move even a few steps away, impacting its efficiency. The Eva 8 offers good consistency in very close quarters due to its wide spread.

Mastiff Shotgun

The Mastiff offers slightly more range than the Eva and a bit more burst potential but a lot less consistency when firing within optimal ranges. Mastiff strikes a good balance, meeting various needs expected from a shotgun in Apex Legends.

CAR SMG

The CAR SMG remains as strong as last season, offering versatility and ranking as the second-highest DPS weapon in the game, excluding the DVO. It boasts a slightly higher damage per magazine compared to the R-99, with a slightly slower fire rate. This feature grants a bit more forgiveness than the R-99. So if you find the R99 challenging to handle, consider giving the CAR a shot. It remains a highly effective gun and can certainly last through to the endgame.

Alternator SMG
Alternator_SMG.png

The Alternator with Disruptor Rounds is not as strong at long range. Its damage per second (DPS) against armored targets totals around 190, a bit lower than the CAR SMG but higher than the Flatline.

Without armor, its DPS decreases to about 160. Against armored enemies, it deals approximately 468 damage per magazine, balancing out to roughly 180 DPS, similar to the Volt and Flatline.

The gun's slow bullet velocity limits its effectiveness at range, reducing its overall versatility. It heavily relies on disruptor rounds to perform well. Without them, it's rated as a B-tier weapon at best.

G7 Scout
G7_Scout.png

The G7 is among the top long-range guns for many due to its high damage and fire rate, offering forgiveness to players. While exceptional, it falls in the A-tier rather than the top S-tier due to the dominance of assault rifles (ARs) in the current meta. If the meta leaned towards more ranged combat, the G7's standing might shift. However, ARs' overall versatility makes them challenging to surpass at present.

30-30 Repeater
30-30_Repeater.png

The 30-30 is an exceptional gun, resembling the powerful Wingman but offering added benefits like increased zoom and bullet velocity. Its impressive damage output is notable, especially with skullpiercer rounds, although they're not necessary for the gun's effectiveness. This gun encourages a more thoughtful and strategic approach, teaching the importance of positioning in combat.

S Tier

Hemlok Burst AR
Hemlok_Burst_AR.png

The Hemlok received a minor nerf this season, yet the number of bursts required for a kill remains the same, typically four on a max armor target. Moreover, the Hemlok truly excels when incorporating headshots into the equation.

R-301 Carbine

The R-301 is simple to use but has a low damage per magazine for an AR. The lower 176 DPS can make a difference if your aim isn't on point. Nevertheless, its remarkable consistency makes it an almost laser-like weapon overall.

VK-47 Flatline

The Flatline provides higher damage per magazine, boasting 180 DPS. It's great in close-quarters combat and functions smoothly without any odd mechanics. The only drawback is its recoil, but overall, it gets the job done perfectly. You can always count on it as a reliable and dependable weapon, earning its reputation as "Old Faithful."

Nemesis Burst AR

Currently, Nemesis seems to be the top choice for many due to its highest DPS when fully utilized. It's particularly simple to handle at range, but that's where its limitations come in. As you get closer to the enemy, its effectiveness declines significantly, mainly because its hipfire performance is inferior.

R-99 SMG
R-99_SMG.png

The R-99 continues to possess exceptional one-clip potential. Once you're familiar with the recoil, it becomes relatively easy to handle. Adding a laser attachment further eases close-quarter combat, which is frequent in this game. It boasts the highest DPS in the game, but its limited magazine size means missing shots will have a noticeable impact. However, landing those shots results in swift takedowns, making it a formidable choice.
