This year's April Fools Event brought back Mozambique variants, all six of which had different names and abilities. In addition to this update from last year, Apex introduced a new unique anti-gravity mechanic that allows players to "fly" during intense battles.

Furthermore, some weapons also received a significant knockback effect, launching players into the air when fired at the ground. These two new mechanics combined to create a unique combat style, where players engage while floating. Additionally, Apex added a new April Fools badge and disabled all stats for the event period.

While the April Fools Event seems very fun, it did come with disadvantages for some players. Upon its release, players started complaining about losing their content or progress. This included missing Ranked Badges and lost progress on paid or earned content for the Breakout Reward Challenges.

Some players even reported that their accounts had been completely reset. One can just imagine how devastating it must be to experience such loss right when you log in, expecting to just have fun with the new update.

Unfortunately, the reason behind the bug is still unknown, and Respawn Entertainment is trying to figure out its origin. The producers tried to calm down players by assuring them that from this point on, anyone who logged in would be safe. They went on to explain that if you lost any content or progress, you wouldn't have to redo the same challenges all over again, as they would make sure to return everything that players lost.
