Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the new game in the Assassin’s Creed series. But where does the character Basim's journey in Baghdad fit in the story?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is special because it connects the old and new Assassin’s Creed games. It's like a bridge between the two.
This game will finish the story of the Hidden Ones against The Order, which began in earlier games. For fans who know the series, they'll remember the fortress from the first game. So, where does Mirage fit in the story?
Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage a story before or after the other games?
Mirage is both a story from before and after some games. It tells about Basim's past before events in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and the first Assassin’s Creed. It might show how the Hidden Ones became the Assassins. So, Mirage happens before Valhalla and about 300 years before the first game.
Who is Basim in the game?
Mirage also continues the big story of Assassin’s Creed. In a past game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Basim was friends with the main guy, Eivor. We learn Basim is a sort of reborn god, Loki. He gets stuck in a computer but is saved by Layla in 2020.
Basim comes back to the Assassins now, in our time. He finishes Eivor's story with them. William says they need to see Basim's old memories. So, Basim might be the first to see his own past memories in the game's computer in today's world.
