2-player co-op mode is not unlocked by default in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This article will cover all you need to know to unlock co-op and play cross-platform! Let's get started.

Unlocking Co-op:

Co-op mode is not immediately available, however can be unlocked by completing the in-game quest, 'The Aranahe Clan.' Upon completion, you will gain the ability to connect with a friend and host a group to explore Pandora.

Co-op Progression:

The state of the game world will always reflect the state of the host player's world, meaning even a player who has made significant progress with their character can still go back and replay earlier stages of the game with a friend who is relatively new to Pandora.

In addition, any progress made or quests completed in co-op mode are considered permanent progress for both players, meaning neither will have to replay the same content again when they return to the solo experience.

Difficulty in Co-op:

Your individual game settings matter! Even in co-op mode, gameplay will always reflect your personal difficulty settings, and your co-op buddy's settings will never impact your in-game experience.

However, an exception: Some quests and encounters will measure a player's 'Combat Strength' in order to calculate enemy difficulty. In these edge cases, the game will always measure the host player's Combat Strength when calculating enemy power levels. Keep this in mind if one player's Na'vi is far more powerful than the other in terms of gear and skill points!

Cross-platform Co-op Mode:

Whether you are on X-Box, Playstation, or PC, as soon as the quest 'The Aranahe Clan' has been completed, no barriers are preventing you from teaming up with a friend to tackle the RDA!
