In Baldur's Gate III, understanding how to level up both your main character and companions is crucial for progression. Leveling Up in Baldur's Gate III

If you're uncertain about the leveling process, this guide is here to assist you. When your character is ready to level up, you will receive a notification and notice a big yellow up-arrow next to your character.

Clicking on the arrow sign next to the portrait of the character you want to level up will open a new screen. Here, you'll find information about the new spells, hit points, and other improvements your character gains. The character sheet is partially displayed on the left side, while the right side is where you'll mainly focus on making any desired changes.

Depending on the character's class, you may have the opportunity early on to choose a subclass. Take your time to explore your options, as you might be able to select new spells, gain new proficiencies, or choose a feat. Feats can enhance a character's ability scores or grant special abilities like Dual Wielder.

Tips for Gaining Experience Quickly

If you aim to be at a competitive level in most of Baldur's Gate 3, these tips will help you. Before implementing these tips, ensure you know how to monitor your experience bar progress for each character by accessing the character sheet (default key "N") and checking the experience bar beneath the Character Sheet column.

1. Defeat all hostile enemies you encounter to gain experience. Combat provides more experience than peaceful resolutions.
