BG3 Patch 7 Release Window
Players can join the Patch 7 Closed Beta which will go live next week on July 22nd (to do so you can register on the Baldur’s Gate 3 store page). This means the official release of Patch 7 will be in September 2024, as confirmed by Larian Studios.
Split Screen Updates
Patch 7 will introduce the dynamic split-screen mode, meaning that, while playing co-op, split screens will merge into a single screen as players move closer to each other. This feature can be accessed directly from the HUD and game settings.

Honour Mode Improvements
Combat in Honour Mode will supposedly get better with BG3 Patch 7. By 'better' Larian Studios means 'harder', now that creatures, such as the bulette, Malus Thorm, and githyanki warriors, will have additional Legendary Actions. Dror Ragzlin will also gain a new spell, Arachnid Compulsion, to summon spiders from a nearby pit to fight against you.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Modding Toolkit
BG3 is a game that goes great with some mods, even if they're just for the aesthetics. The official BG3 modding toolkit will allow players to create and load new game mods. Creating items, cosmetics, classes, races, dice skins, or user interface improvements will be way easier with it.

Evil Endings
With Patch 7 we're finally getting some more evil endings! These new cinematic endings feature avatar Origin characters like the Dark Urge and various pathways for your player character. We can't wait to see what Larian Studios has come up with!
Dark Urge Bug Fixes
Along with the new scenes, there will be a few improvements and bug fixes for Dark Urge. Camera pops, missing inspiration, VFX issues, and combat triggers have been addressed. This includes Minthara reacting appropriately if you’ve been stripped of Bhaal’s influence.

Improvements have been made to facial animations during kissing scenes and emotional reactions in cutscenes. Companions will show more empathy when Astarion loses his ability to withstand sunlight.
Lae’zel
Lae’zel will now have more varied idle animations at camp and the bug preventing her from appearing in Act I after resurrection has been fixed.

Party Banter Improvements
Multiplayer parties will now support banter between characters assigned to different players. Romance party banters that were previously inaccessible while adventuring have also been resolved.
Future BG3 Updates
Patch 7 will not be the final update for Baldur’s Gate 3, according to the Community Update post. The Larian team is looking into new features, such as crossplay and photo mode. Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy your summer!
