Ceb Returns to OG's Dota 2 Roster...Again

Once again, Ceb's retirement from competitive play proves to be temporary as he rejoins OG's main Dota 2 roster, ready to compete in The International 12 qualifiers.

Though OG has had its share of ups and downs since n0tail and the team took a break, Ceb has remained close to the action. After retiring in November 2021, he frequently stood in for OG in various matches and Dota Majors over the last two seasons.

In the past seven months, Ceb also led the Division II team, Old G, alongside former OG teammate Topson. The team aimed to compete at a high level while maintaining a more relaxed atmosphere, but it seems that Ceb's passion for competition led him back to OG.

"Retirement is just THAT boring" appears to be the case for Ceb, who played a significant role in OG's back-to-back TI victories and achieved notable success during his time as a stand-in, including a Stockholm Major win and a fourth-place finish at the Arlington Major.

With OG facing roster instability and only qualifying for one DPC Major after ATF's departure, Ceb's return comes at a crucial time for the team.

The exact reasons behind Ceb's return remain unknown. Whether it was his desire to compete away from the "retirement home" or OG's lack of options for a top-tier support player is yet to be clarified.

This development also raises questions about the future of Old G, particularly regarding Topson's plans heading into the TI qualifiers.

Ceb has less than a month to acclimate to OG's lineup and help prepare the team for WEU's qualifiers starting on August 27. They will face tough competition from teams like Quest Esports, Entity, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy, and others for two final spots at TI12.
