The Blood Knight was introduced in Diablo Immortal through a free update in July 2023. This unique character combines both ranged and melee abilities, making it the first new class in the series since the Crusader in Diablo 3's Reaper of Souls expansion back in 2014.
As a vampire-like being, the Blood Knight possesses supernatural powers that make it a strong contender in battles against various enemies. Its preference for a polearm weapon also adds to its distinct combat style.
Not surprisingly, the Blood Knight has quickly become a favorite among players of Immortal. With the recent announcement of Diablo 4's Season of Blood theme for Season 2, fans speculated about the possibility of this bloodthirsty class making its way to the newer game. However, those hoping for such a crossover might be in for disappointment.
No Blood Knight in Diablo 4's Future
In an exclusive interview with the German publication 4Players (via Icy Veins), Diablo GM Rod Fergusson addressed the absence of the Blood Knight in D4's Season of Blood.
Fergusson pointed out that Immortal and D4 are "very different games with two very different teams and two different technologies." He mentioned that both games coincidentally feature vampire-related content, but then clarified that "the Blood Knight will not appear in Diablo 4."
The Season of Blood for Diablo 4 is set to kick off in October 2023. Unfortunately, it seems that the Blood Knight won't be making its way into Diablo 4 anytime soon. However, there could still be exciting surprises in store for the Season of Blood, though details aren't available to the public just yet.
Players can look forward to content that lets them become vampire hunters with vampiric abilities. More information is likely to come out in the coming weeks, especially since Season 2 is scheduled to launch on October 17.
