Bungie

Bungie has officially announced the release of the brand-new Destiny 2 Season of the Wish. It went live with the major Update 7.3.0 patch, which brought lots of changes, buffs, and nerfs you can learn about in this article.

Season of the Wish promises exciting new gameplay, revolving around the story ‘A Dream of Dragons’. Destiny 2 will also bring to players new weekly missions, weapons, loot, and, of course, the anticipated Riven’s Lair Seasonal Activity. Let's dive into all you need to know before you dig into Season of the Wish!

Riven’s Lair

Bungie

Season of The Wish introduces us to the seasonal activity Riven’s Lair. It’s a 3-player match-made activity with different difficulties players can choose from to make the gameplay more challenging.

The story starts with Riven offering players to go through her lair, retrieve her last clutch of Ahamkara eggs, and she will grant the Fifteenth Wish for them in return. Looks like the mysterious 15th wish will finally be revealed! This will take Destiny 2 players on an epic adventure in the underworld beneath the Dreaming City, fighting off Riven’s enemies and discovering treasure.

Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon

There will be a new dungeon for Destiny 2 players to raid in this Season 23. Warlord’s Ruin will be available starting at 9 AM PT, Friday, December 1. We’ll have to wait until then to get more information as Bungie is keeping the details a secret! The only two hints we got are that Warlord’s Ruin will most probably be a haunted dungeon, and a plain and simple ‘Rocket-Pistol.’ This might mean we should expect some Legendary Weapon drops.

The Witcher Collab

Bungie

If you're a fan of both The Witcher and Destiny 2 you already know about the good news - players can enjoy new armor ornament sets and Exotic cosmetics inspired by Geralt of Rivia in Season of the Wish!

New Matchmaking System: Fireteam Finder Beta Test

The Fireteam Finder Beta lets players test facing Destiny 2’s most challenging adventures in groups. You can join an existing group or make your own! It’s just a beta, so bugs and issues should be expected and forgiven. Learn more about the new Destiny 2 matchmaking system here.

New Season Pass Rewards & Dragon’s Breath

Bungie

Season of The Wish will grant many wishes, such as legendary weapons, Deepsight Harmonizers, boosts, crafting materials, and cool armor ornaments. Destiny 2’s new season introduces new Glimmer and material rewards that will replace Legendary Shards, as they will no longer be in the game. Another Season Pass Reward is instantly unlocking the Seasonal Exotic, which is basically a reimagined fan-favorite Dragon’s Breath.

No More Legendary Shards

Yes, as mentioned before Legendary Shards are done for. They won’t be available in Destiny 2’s Season 23, so a good tip would be to spend all of them if you have any left.
