According to Bungie's status page, Destiny 2 was taken offline at 7 AM PDT on November 28. The maintenance period is expected to last approximately two hours.

Bungie states that players can expect to log back in at around 9 AM PDT. The process should be completed by 11 AM PDT.

Update 7.3.0 brings extensive tuning passes to Strand subclasses, exotic armor, crafting costs, and core activities. It also kicks off a special Dawning holiday event with new quests, rewards, and festive additions.

This downtime enables Bungie to smoothly roll out the sweeping adjustments in Update 7.3.0 ahead of the Lightfall expansion next year. The changes aim to improve the overall sandbox balance, incentives, and longevity of reward systems.

With so many tweaks to abilities, subclasses, and gear, maintenance allows them to deploy it without stability or performance issues. It also lets them monitor for any glaring problems before players flood back in.

What Can You Do During Destiny 2 Update 7.3.0 Maintenance?

During maintenance, players will be unable to log in or access any Destiny 2 gameplay features or services. This includes all PVP activities like Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris. PVE zones will also be inaccessible.

However, Bungie's companion app and website should remain online for players to access gear management, clan chat, and other social options. You can review the extensive Update 7.3.0 patch notes to plan out new builds.

The maintenance downtime serves as a good opportunity to step away for a bit. Stretch your legs, grab a snack, or chat with your fire team outside the game.
