Diablo IV Steam Release
Initially exclusive to Battle.net on PC for four months, Diablo IV will become available on Steam starting October 17, the same day Season of Blood begins. The Steam version of the game will support cross-play and cross-progression between platforms, including Steam Achievements and the option to invite friends using Steam friends lists. However, a Battle.net account is still required to play.
Season of Blood Story and New Content
In Season 2, players will embark on a new seasonal quest line by teaming up with Erys, a vampire hunter, to confront a fresh threat in Sanctuary. Erys, voiced by actress Gemma Chan, will join players to hunt down a vampire master responsible for a series of murders. As players progress, they will also contract vampirism. Additionally, a new seasonal event called Blood Harvest will be available, similar to Helltides, offering a resource-rich area to gather required items.
Season of Blood Vampiric Powers
Season 2 introduces 22 Vampiric Powers, which players can unlock using a new resource called Potent Blood. These powers can be equipped via a dedicated tab on the character screen, with each character being able to use up to five powers at once. However, players need specific Pact Armor types (Ferocity, Divinity, and Eternity) to activate some powers, creating a strategic layer to the game. These Vampiric Powers come in two varieties: Minor Vampiric Powers and Major Vampiric Powers, offering various benefits.

Season of Blood New Endgame Bosses
Season 2 introduces five new endgame bosses, each associated with specific endgame activities. These bosses drop exclusive Unique items and cosmetic items and are accessible to characters on both the Eternal Realm and seasonal realms. Players will encounter new bosses, including the Echo of Varshan and Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint, among others.
Season of Blood Quality-of-Life Improvements
Blizzard is implementing several quality-of-life improvements, including changes to inventory management. Gems will no longer occupy inventory space and will be treated as crafting materials. Stashes will feature a search function and item filters, while smaller towns will have their own stashes, reducing the need to visit large cities. Lower-quality items at World Tiers III and IV will drop as crafting resources instead of cluttering inventory. Gold drop rates will increase at higher World Tiers to compensate.

Season of Blood Renown Changes
Season 2 will make Renown rewards account-wide, eliminating the need to grind Renown for each new seasonal character. Once a player reaches max Renown on any character, the rewards are automatically unlocked for all future characters. Renown progress from standard or seasonal characters will not carry over to Hardcore characters, but unlocked Renown rewards on one Hardcore character will carry over to others.
Season of Blood XP and Leveling Speed Changes
To reduce the grind, Season 2 will offer faster leveling speeds, particularly for characters above level 50, with increased XP rewards. Changes to XP bonuses will contribute to the overall speedup of reaching level 100. Players will benefit from XP bonuses for playing on higher World Tiers, using Elixirs, and Seasonal Blessings, which will now be multiplicative in Season 2.

Season of Blood Endgame Changes
Blizzard is making Diablo IV's endgame more rewarding. Players will receive more gold and XP from participating in Helltides and completing Grim Favors. Nightmare dungeons will be less tedious, with reduced backtracking and the ability to teleport directly to dungeon entrances. Affixes in Nightmare dungeons will be adjusted to be less punishing, and world bosses and Legion events will spawn more frequently.
Season of Blood Mount Updates
Mounts in Season 2 will be more versatile and efficient. Players can use the Spur ability to break through barricades without dismounting. Mounts will also be around 15% faster, with reduced cooldowns for manual dismounting and dismounting attacks.
