Diablo 4's Season of the Construct has finally been revealed, and a ton of exciting changes and additions to the game were announced. A new customizable Seneschal Companion that will aid you in battle, new Vault Dungeons filled with traps and riches, as well as a new questline featuring Zoltan Kulle are just a few of the highlights coming to the game. One part of the reveal, however, was quite disappointing - the previously announced weekly challenge dungeon, called The Gauntlet, and the leaderboard system have been delayed and will not be available at the start of the season. Here is everything you need to know:

The Diablo 4 community has been vocal about a lot of issues since the launch of the game back in June. One thing, however, that they can all agree on is that the game needs a leaderboard system. Being able to actively compare yourself to the highest-rated players, check their gear, and directly compete with them has been a part of ARPGs for decades.

A few months ago, Blizzard did finally announce that they would be adding leaderboards to the game during Season 3, along with a weekly fixed dungeon tied to it, so players can compete for the highest spots and earn rewards.

A blog post dropped today that revealed the theme and mechanics of Season 3, called Season of the Construct, and while most of it looks amazing, it was announced that the Gauntlet, as well as the leaderboards, will not be available at launch but at a later date. Here is what Blizzard had to say:

A new challenge arrives later in Season of the Construct. Fight through The Gauntlet, a weekly rotating fixed dungeon that will have you competing for the top spot on the leaderboards. Only the strongest will emerge to claim their place on the weekly leaderboards, the top weekly scores will earn their permanent place in the Hall of the Ancients. More details on the arrival of the Gauntlet will be available in a future blog.

Leaderboards and The Gauntlet will be added at a later date, and more information will be shared in a future blog. Fans of the series are quite disappointed that this feature has taken more than 6 months to arrive in the game, a feature that has been available at launch in the previous installments of the series. If any new information becomes available, we will make sure to keep you updated. For more Diablo 4 news and guides, make sure to check out the rest of our website!
