Diablo 4 Season 4 has reinvigorated the game, with many changes to core systems, including the new itemization rework, Helltide buffs, and updates to the endgame boss ladder. Season 4 has added some brand new Unique items to the pool while also making many of the summoning materials a lot more accessible and easier to farm. Players can also summon and defeat the new Uber Andariel boss fight, and all of the different pinnacle bosses now have their own Uber versions, which are much harder but also much more rewarding.

One of these challenging encounters, Lord Zir, is one of the earlier bosses you will fight, providing you with the means to earn some high Item Power gear, as well as a couple of Uniques that might be suitable for your build. In this article, we are going to go over how you can summon Lord Zir as well as his tormented (Uber) version, and we will also provide you with the full list of Uniques that can drop from him.

Lord Zir Location & Summon Requirements

The Lord Zir boss fight can be found in the Gale Valley zone within the Fractured Peaks region. The arena can be accessed by going through 'The Darkened Way' entrance, located north of the Yelesna waypoint. You might remember this subzone from the first part of the Diablo 4 campaign.

In order to summon Lord Zir, you are going to need a resource called Exquisite Blood. This resource can mainly be found by completing Legion Events and by defeating World Bosses in the open world.

Since the release of Season 4, Exquisite Blood can now drop from other sources, such as Elites, Local Events, Whisper Caches, Treasure Goblins, and the new Hellborne enemies from Helltides. This will make it much easier to farm the materials needed to summon Lord Zir, but due to these drops being random, the best way to focus farm Exquisite Blood is still through World Bosses and Legion Events.

Gathering Legions are open-world events that appear once every 25 minutes, providing players with different objectives and culminating in a boss fight that rewards gear, Murmuring Obols, and Exquisite Blood. Here are some common Legion event locations:

  • Fractured Peaks - Kor Dragan Stronghold
  • Dry Steppes - Norgoi Vigil.
  • Dry Steppes - Temple of Rot
  • Hawezar - Crusader's Monument
  • Hawezar - Haunted Wreckage.
  • Kehjistan - Alcarnus
  • Kehjistan - Dilapidated Aqueducts.

World Bosses spawn once every 3 hours and 30 minutes, and defeating them will reward players with gear, a weekly bonus cache, as well as Exquisite Blood. Here are the locations where World Bosses can spawn in Diablo 4:

  • The Crucible in the Fractured Peaks.
  • Caen Adar in Scosglen.
  • Saraan Caldera in the Dry Steppes.
  • Seared Basin in Kehjistan.
  • Fields of Desecration in Hawezar.

Once you have 9x Exquisite Blood, you will be able to summon and fight Lord Zir.

How to Summon Tormented (Uber) Lord Zir

Tormented Lord Zir is a level 200 version of the original boss fight, making him much more difficult to defeat but also much more rewarding. You can summon the tormented version of Lord Zir through the same altar in his arena, but you are going to need three times as many materials, as well as 2 Stygian Stones. Stygian Stones can be found by completing the new Pit of Artificers endgame dungeon at higher levels. Here are the materials needed in order to summon Tormented Lord Zir:

Each time you defeat Tormented Lord Zir you are going to receive 5 times the amount of loot, and for your first victory over him you are also going to be rewarded with a Resplendent Spark, which can be used to craft Uber Unique items, such as the Harlequin Crest.
