Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - How to Get Forgotten Souls
Forgotten Souls have always been a valuable resource in Diablo 4, but since the release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion they have become even stronger. As they are a material required in order to Masterwork your gear, not having enough of them can be a huge roadblock in the progression of your character. Blizzard also seems to agree, as they recently hotfixed the Forgotten Souls drop rate, making them a bit easier to obtain.
Since this hotfix, you are now going to be able to get more Forgotten Souls from higher Torment difficulties and the best ways to farm them is through Dungeon bosses, Whisper Caches and Lair bosses. The Kurast Undercity and the Dark Citadel dungeons have also been buffed to give you a higher amount of Forgotten Souls. Here are all of the changes to Forgotten Souls, as well as where you can farm them from the latest Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred hotfix:
- We have increased the amount of Forgotten Souls obtainable in-game.
Amount of Forgotten Souls increased per drop:- Torment 1 - 1 to 3
- Torment 2 - 1,2 to 5
- Torment 3 - 2 to 7
- Torment 4 - 3 to 10
- Forgotten Souls are now guaranteed to drop off Dungeon Bosses, Whisper Caches, Lair Bosses in Torment tiers.
- Increased the amount of Forgotten Souls dropped from Dark Citadel end wing bosses.
- Added Crafting Materials (including Forgotten Souls) to Kurast Undercity final rewards.
Developer Note: We’ve heard feedback that Forgotten Souls have been incredibly hard to obtain compared to other materials in-game. We agree. They were a bit too forgotten. We have increased these drops across the whole game.
That is everything you need to know about Forgotten Souls, as well as the best places you can farm them in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. Hopefully, this article has helped you farm them much more efficiently, so you can Masterwork all of your gear and progress your character through the endgame.
