The new season is set to bring a ton of changes and new content to the game, including a weekly challenge dungeon, as well as the highly-anticipated Leaderboards. While the new seasonal mechanic has not yet been revealed, it is sure to shape the game with new and interesting ways to play, similar to how Vampiric Powers worked in Season 2.
With the season rapidly approaching, many players have been wondering if everything they did during the previous season will be gone and lost forever. For this reason, we are going to go over what you will be able to transfer over to Diablo 4's Season 3.

Diablo 4: What Carries Over To Season 3
Here is a list of things you are going to be able to transfer over to Diablo 4's Season 3:
Campaign Progress
One of the things Diablo 4 does right compared to its competition is that once you finish the campaign once, you never have to do it again. While this may sound a little out of place for players who are new to the genre, with these games operating with a Seasonal live-service system, after you do the campaign a few times you are going to get tired of it. If you do enjoy it, however, you can always choose to do it again!
Once the new season starts and you have completed the campaign once, you are going to be able to do most of the end-game activities at the start of the game. These include the Tree of Whispers, capstone dungeons and the ability to free-roam around the map. You will only be presented with the Seasonal Questline, which is usually a few short missions that will explain the new mechanics of the season to you.

Renown
Renown is another mechanic in the game that will carry over to Season 3. All of the bonuses tied to renown, such as the free skill points increased potion capacity, max obols and paragon points will be automatically unlocked upon creating a new character. The bonus experience and gold from the first two tiers will also be unlocked, which might jump start your character a few levels.
This change was made before Season 2 and players were very excited that they didn't need to do all of the side content in the game in order to gain a little power for their characters.

Map Progress
The final feature that is going to transfer into Season 3 is going to be your Map Progress. All of the different points on the map that you have uncovered with your characters will now be revealed, as well as the different Waypoints along with it. The only Waypoints you will not have access to are the ones that are locked behind side-quests or Strongholds, so you will have to do some of those again.
Those were all of the things you can carry over into Season 3 of Diablo 4. The new season is set to launch on January 23rd and it will bring a wide array of balance changes, new items and a seasonal mechanic that has not yet been revealed. A new weekly challenge dungeon, as well as the highly-anticipated Leaderboard system will also be present in the game.
