Last Epoch is the newest action role-playing game to hit the mainstream gaming market, alongside Diablo 4 and Path of Exile. The game is set to launch on February 21st, and while the game is created by an indie studio, there are a lot of eyes on it after a few disappointing months of Diablo 4. With many players seeking refuge and looking for an old-school hack-and-slash RPG, the stage has been set, and we are very excited to see how many players are going to jump in for the launch of the game. For many players, this will be their first exposure to the game, and questions have already started to surface.
With Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 adding the option to move your characters with the WASD buttons on your keyboard, players have been wondering if Last Epoch is going to receive the same feature. Here is everything you need to know about the potential of WASD movement in Last Epoch 1.0.

Does Last Epoch Have WASD Movement Options?
Unfortunately, a WASD movement option will not be available in Last Epoch during its launch on February 21st. A YouTuber by the name of K3nergy asked the developers about this feature a few months ago, and they responded that they are not currently working on this feature and it will not be available any time soon. Here is the full response to the question that was being asked:
Unfortunately at this time there are no plans to do a WASD movement option, but we are looking to continue optimizing our controller capability. I will however still make note of this for our development team.
The WASD movement option was recently added to the PC version of Diablo 4 and was announced to be available at the launch of Path of Exile 2. Many players who enjoy the ARPG genre are likely to have experienced strain in their wrists, from mild discomfort all the way up to carpal tunnel disease. This is due to how the genre typically works, with a ton of movement being required by your mouse, both for playing your character, as well as going through all of the different loot that can drop from the enemies.

It's unfortunate that this option will not be available for the foreseeable future in Last Epoch, but it's worth noting that the developers do actually respond to feedback and it's likely to be developed at some point. If more information about this feature is available, we will make sure to keep you up-to-date!
