Explore Westcott

The quest begins by telling you to go to a small ruined town west of the Ancient Vault where you found the Farmer. The easiest way to get there is to go up to the plaza in front of the Ancient Vault and then head west.

Upon arrival in Wescoot, search for the town's tallest building, distinguishable by its elevated position and missing roof.

You may need to break through a few doors to access the interior. Once inside, make your way to the top of the building. There, you will find 'Martha's Diary, Entry 1.' Reading this diary will reveal a new location, which will be automatically marked on your map. Proceed to this new destination to continue your adventure.

Retrace Athalan Skree's Steps

The diary reveals that Athalan chose not to stay at the inn, which is the very building you're currently in. Instead, she established a camp nearby. To continue your quest, exit Wescoot by heading north until you come across a tent.

Inside this tent, you'll find a book titled 'Leave the Rot Behind.' Read this book to progress further in your quest.

Reach the Revelwood

Next, you need to go far north to a cave where Athalan stayed. Start from the Tent and head north. Cross a bridge into the Revelwood, then enter Diadwyn. Keep going north until you find the entrance to the cave.

When you get into the cave, you'll find it full of spiders. Clear out the spiders in the first room. Look for a web blocking a way to the southeast. Burn this web with a torch to get through.

This leads to a big room with even more spiders. At the end of this room, you'll see the Spindle shining. There are many spiders in your way Take your time by killing everything and move slowly and break all the spider egg sacks around the room. These sacks keep making more spiders. Be careful and you can get to the Spindle.

Once you've taken care of the spiders, grab the Spindle. Next to it, there's a book called 'A Sleepless Night.' Read this book. It will give you two new side quests to do: 'A Crucial Investigation' and 'Lost in the Shroud.'

When you're done, use fast travel to go back to your base. There, set up the Hand Spindle for your Hunter. She will then be able to make Linen which is a crucial materials to craft new armor sets.
