The Wastelander Challenge is a new mechanic that is introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. These challenges are for the hardcore players who want the game to be harder and require additional difficulty. These challenges give you a negative effect, for example, 'Take damage while standing still'.

Every Wastelander Beacon Location in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

There are four different locations where you can find a Wastelander Beacon, each of which will give you a random challenge. It is unknown if more will be added to the game in the future. Here are all the current Wastelander Beacon locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3:

Every Wastelander Challenge in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

In the recent Jumpstart Quests, there is one that requires you to "Accept a Wastelander Challenge." You do not need to complete it for the quest, but if you are up for a harder game, here are all the different Wastelander Challenges you can get:

Cannot Gain Shields
Reloading is Disabled
Take Damage While Standing Still
Take Damage When Picking up Items
Health and Shield Items are not Usable
Take Damage While Touching the Ground

Wastelander Challenges Rewards

Nobody wants to play with these negative effects, but if you are up to the challenge, you will earn tons of experience. I won a game with the "Take Damage While Standing Still" effect and earned 220,000 XP at the end of the match.

Additionally, you will unlock a brand-new weapon wrap. There is a hidden quest that requires you to win a match with a Wastelander Challenge active. The reward is the Wastelander's Mark wrap.
