Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s map Rust has resolved many disputes back in the day, and it seems it is still a great way to settle the score between rivals. Last week, Nadeshot, CEO of 100 Thieves, and FaZe Banks, CEO of FaZe Clan, announced that they would take their online dispute to MW2’s Rust. The match took place last night, and Banks took home the crown.

The Founding Fathers LAN event was created specifically for the clash between the two COD OGs, who have been around since the start of the COD revolution in 2009. Along with the two CEOs, the tournament also featured various content creators and video game celebrities, including the CEO of OpTic, HecZ.

Unfortunately, the event was held behind closed doors, and there was no real-life audience.

Banks Keeps His Gaming Edge

Similar to the good old days, when gaming was much simpler, both used the iconic Intervention sniper rifle, which is adored by many and was a crucial part of many MW2 montages and trick shot clips. Banks was the one to get the first kill, quickly followed by the second and the third. This set the tone for the nostalgic match-up, as the FaZe leader thoroughly dominated his opponent.

It wasn’t looking good for Nade, as Banks took the first eight kills before the 100 Thieves’ CEO managed to snatch his first one in the game. The brief clash was marked by Banks’ dominance, who seemed like he had never left the MW2 lobbies with his quick scoping skills.

Game Over, Nade

The match concluded in nearly 7 minutes, as Banks won convincingly 20 to 5. Shortly after the game was over, Banks was quick to respond to his haters who doubted his classic COD skills. He posted a compilation with clips of other streamers who were more than sure that he would be trashed by Nade. But it seems as in the old days, FaZe is once more the King of retro COD.

Fellow Faze members were quick to congratulate their boss on his win:

The full match can already be found online on various channels including 100 Thieves’ official YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LqMQ-cc3o4

Hopefully, the interest in the special event may spark more similar 1v1s in classic games from the good old days of COD and gaming as a whole.
