Gender limitations have been a stumbling block for FFXIV's races, beginning with Viera and extending to the big cat-folk, Hrothgar. With Viera remedied, only Hrothgar remains, and it would appear that female Hrothgar might just be arriving this summer alongside Dawntrail. Here's everything we know so far!
FFXIV: Female Hrothgar
Unlike the Viera, who toted in-lore reasons for the delayed arrival of male models, the absence of female Hrothgar remains something of a mystery at this time. Perhaps the newest character key to the Main Story Quest (pictured below) will offer some manner of explanation.

Dawntrail brings us to Tuliyollal, where a political vacuum must be filled by a new continental leader. That's where we come in to offer assistance, invited along by the mysterious female Hrothgar seen in the Dawntrail teaser.

The female Hrothgar appear much more cat-like as opposed to their tiger-like male counterparts. If the images in the trailer are to be trusted, then hairstyle options may include red and blue braiding, as well as tribal-style feathers.
