Fidough Fetch: Global Challenges in Pokémon GO this January

Pokemon GO is celebrating the new year with a brand-new event. From Friday, January 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. to Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. PST, Trainers around the globe will unite in the Fidough Fetch event. The most important thing about it is that players can unlock the debut Puppy Pokémon, Fidough, and its evolution, Dachsbun.

Fidough Fetch Event Basics

The event will start on January 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. and it will end on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. PST.

Global Challenges

During the Fidough Fetch event, Trainers can take up Global Challenges by making Nice Throws. As each challenge is completed, some pretty sweet bonuses will be unlocked for all players. Progress through multiple levels of rewards, with each new tier offering bigger and better rewards. Read more about them below:

Reward Tiers

• Level 1 Reward

  • 2× XP for catching Pokémon.

• Level 2 Rewards

  • 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Additional event-themed Field Research tasks.
  • Fidough and Dachsbun make their Pokémon GO debuts! Use 50 Fidough Candy to evolve Fidough into Dachsbun.

• Level 3 Rewards

  • 2.5× XP for catching Pokémon.
  • More event-themed Field Research tasks.
  • Additional wild Pokémon, including Hisuian Growlithe* and Greavard*.

• Level 4 Reward

  • 2.5× Stardust for catching Pokémon.

• Level 5 Rewards

  • 3× XP and Stardust for catching Pokémon.

• Level 6 Rewards

  • 4× XP and Stardust for catching Pokémon.

(*Lucky Trainers may encounter Shiny versions of these Pokémon!)

Wild Encounters

During Fidough Fetch, certain Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

• Growlithe*
• Voltorb*
• Snubbull*
• Poochyena*
• Electrike*
• Lillipup*

(*Shiny versions will be available)

Field Research Tasks

Event-themed Field Research tasks will reward players with Stardust, Poké Balls, Great Balls, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

PokéStop Showcases

Players can explore their local PokéStops for Showcases, where you can enter your event-themed Pokémon to compete.
