If you want to complete everything possible in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, finding all the Protorelics will be on your list. Considering all Phenomenon intel missions are optional, it’s not exactly clear what you need to do. That’s where we come in. As with all Protorelics, you will need to complete four quests. If you played the 1997 classic, you should be familiar with the gang we will bump into in the Grasslands, Beck’s Badasses.
FF7 Rebirth: Grasslands – Phenomenon Intel 1: Wild Bandit Chase
To start your quest for the Protorelic in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, head to the tower at the edge of the Grasslands region. You won’t be able to open the locked gate. Use a broken patch of fence to get through. Head up to the top and meet Beck’s Badasses. Long story short, they won’t give you the Protorelic and their leader runs away, leaving you to fight his cronies.
This isn’t a difficult fight, focus on fire damage as this is their weakness and you should quickly defeat them. Nothing comes from this encounter but it's not over yet.

FF7 Rebirth: Grasslands – Phenomenon Intel 2: One Badass Barbecue
The bandits that have your Protorelic are having a barbecue on the outskirts of Kalm. Head on over and FF7 Rebirth automatically forces you into a stealth approach. It’s fairly simple, keep behind objects and roll when in the open. Follow the obvious path until you reach a window in the factory. After the short cutscene, head up to the roof and drop down on Beck and his gang.
As expected, Beck runs away again and you'll have a bunch of bandits to deal with. The fight is similar to the last, so focus on fire damage and you should be fine. The mission is complete but there is still no Protorelic.

FF7 Rebirth: Grasslands – Phenomenon Intel 3: Diversionary Tactics
With Beck’s Badasses getting away again, you chase them to the Abandoned Republic Factory in the Grasslands. The location should be on your map. Head inside and find the gang to start another interaction.
Before you fight them this time, you have to guess who has the Protorelic. It’s an easy choice. Look for the sparkles behind one of their backs and pick him. It matters little because they will run away anyway, leaving you to fight other bandits.
After another easy fight, you have to search for the key to their hideout. Use your Chocobo outside of the warehouse to sniff out the treasure. Now you have the key, the last mission is available.

FF7 Rebirth: Grasslands – Phenomenon Intel 4: Taking Care of Business
Now it’s time to end this chase in FF7 Rebirth. Their hideout will automatically appear on the map, so head there and go inside. Beck’s Badasses are on the floor, playing dead. Find a switch near the entrance and flick it. This will drop a large crate on the bandits. It turns out they weren’t dead after all and they quickly get out of the way.
After another interaction with the gang, you will have to fight them yet again. This time, they have a Modded Sweeper helping them out. Take out Beck and his crew first, as it will make it easier to concentrate on the Sweeper. Use Thunder and destroy its arms to pressure it.
When you defeat them, Beck and his group promise to go straight. They are willing to sell you the Protorelic for 2000 gil to fund their future endeavors. Take the offer and you will have found your first Protorelic. Enjoy a little cutscene to celebrate.
The Grasslands Protorelic questline is one of the easiest of its kind in FF7 Rebirth, find them all to have a chance at obtaining the all-powerful Summon Gilgamesh. I hope this helped you complete the Grasslands Phenomenon Intel missions.
