Five Nights At Freddy's 2: Official Release Date
Teasers for the second movie of the horror franchise have been circulating the internet for months. The biggest tease came from the main actor, Josh Hutcherson himself. At the beginning of this year, Mike's actor shared that the story for the second movie is already in development. This unofficially but reliably confirmed that the FNAF movie would be coming soon.
At April's CinemaCon, Universal Pictures announced that the Five Nights at Freddy's sequel is not only in production but will also hit the big screen next year. The release date for Five Nights at Freddy's is set for Fall 2025.
Universal didn't share any additional details about the movie. However, we can expect more teasers in the next few months.

Five Nights At Freddy's 2: Expected Cast and Returning Characters
Although the official cast for the upcoming movie is yet to be revealed, there are some characters whose participation in the second movie would make sense. Starting with Mike himself, as the main character in the show/game, he must also be in the next movie to deal with the animatronics and the mystery surrounding this scary pizzeria. Furthermore, with Josh Hutcherson sharing information about the sequel, his participation becomes even more certain.
Other characters likely to return include Abby (Piper Rubio), Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), and Aunt Jane (Mary Stuart Masterson). Additionally, even though Matthew Lillard's character died in the first movie, fans of the game know how important William is. We wouldn't be surprised to see him return as well.

Five Nights At Freddy's 2: Expected Plot
Just like the cast members, an official plot has not been announced yet. However, based on the story of the first movie and the events that take place in the game, there are some plot lines we could expect to see in the new sequel. Not to mention, fans noticed some aspects of the first FNAF movie were left unfinished.
The director herself, Emma Tammi, said the following:
We have some loose ends that I think are going to have to come back in a sequel to be tied up.
The second game of the franchise originally served as a prequel to the first one, which makes it a little less likely to be a source for the story of the movie sequel. However, there is no saying that the writers wouldn't take any inspiration from the game plot. They might simply bring the past of the pizzeria to light in the movie without turning the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 film into a complete prequel.
We are all excited for the next Five Nights at Freddy's movie! Make sure to check our website for more news on the sequel as we update regularly.
