How to Collect Puzzle Pieces and Unlock Rewards
If you want to join in on the Fortnitemares fun, you need to watch a participating Twitch streamer who has enabled the Fortnitemares extension. As you're watching their content, puzzle pieces will appear on the screen. Be quick and click on the pieces before they vanish. Each piece caught is recorded in the Collection tab of the extension.
Once you collect all the puzzle pieces, you will complete the puzzle and earn The Carver’s Challenge Loading Screen in Fortnite. All you have to do to claim this reward is to make sure your Twitch and Epic Games accounts are linked.
It can take up to 60 minutes for account linking to process, and the reward will be linked to the Epic account within 30 days. Keep in mind that this exclusive loading screen may also be available for purchase in the Fortnite Shop at a later date, but not currently.

Compete on the Leaderboards
Some Fortnite players might want a little more competitiveness. Well, the extension offers both Channel and Global leaderboards.
- The Channel leaderboard tracks puzzle piece collections for the stream currently being viewed.
- The Global leaderboard ranks participants across all channels using the extension.
It's possible for Fortnitemares to appear on multiple Channel leaderboards by switching between different streams.

The Takeover Mechanic
We already mentioned that the Fortnitemares extension also introduces the exciting Takeover feature. When a channel's community collects a certain number of puzzle pieces, the streamer can initiate a Takeover of another participating channel. This Takeover sends a barrage of pumpkins to the target channel’s chat, creating a playful raid. The targeted channel’s community can fight off the Takeover by spamming the heart Twitch emote. Don't forget to support your faves!
All streamers have to do, in order to initiate a Takeover is follow the simple steps below:
- Click on their profile icon in the upper-right corner of Twitch.
- Navigate to the Video Producer section.
- Go to Stream Manager from the left menu.
- Select the grey tile with the puzzle piece icon to access the streamer panel.
