Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3 has started but community feedback leaves Epic Games no choice but to nerf vehicles.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has just begun, and it has been great fun for players. However, there have been some major complaints about how overpowered some vehicles are in the Battle Royal mode. Besides competitive players, casual ones were also unhappy with how powerful some cars were.

It is not unusual for players to complain about some of the new items or changes when a season starts in Fortnite. But this time the outcry was not just from the competitive players, as one of the biggest Fortnite streamers, Ninja, just recently had a rant about how OP cars were. Thankfully, Epic Games was quick to react to the feedback.

Community Voice was Heard

Late on May 30, 2024, Fortnite’s official X account posted that it had made some balance adjustments.

Latest Changes

  • Machine Gun Turrets have reduced accuracy
  • Grenadе Launcher Turrets deal less damage to structures
  • The health of vehicles has been decreased for Solos
  • Boss Cars Do Not Auto-regenerate health
  • Boom Bolts deal more damage to vehicles
  • Recharge time for Nitro Gauntlets has been increased
  • Nitro shoulder bash damage has been nerfed

After releasing the previously mentioned fixes promptly, Epic Games was able to calm the outcry from the community. While it's too soon to say if these changes were the right choice, it appears that the community is pleased with the nerfs based on what can be seen on the official pages.

Here’s How Some Users on Reddit Reacted to the Changes:

However, that was not all from Epic Games, as on top of the much-anticipated vehicle nerfs, the company has also unvaulted the iconic Boogie Bombs

In addition to that, the company also teased that it will bring back a fan favorite and highly requested electric throwable. The EMP items will replace the Boogie Bombs in the item loot pool.

Fortnite Prepares for Next Patch

Epic Games has also announced that the Fortnite servers went offline at 04:00 AM ET (08:00 UTC) on May 31, 2024, for patch v30.01. As usual, matchmaking was disabled 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

However, this update addresses only bug fixes and has not added new cosmetics. The servers were down for several hours, but players are now able to queue up in the battle bus.
