A recent Fortnite leak suggests that a new Fortnite Death Race mode could be coming to the game's Rocket Racing segment. This potential addition would take the racing gameplay in a more dangerous direction. 

Fortnite Rocket Racing Leaks Death Race Mode

The leak came from prominent Fortnite dataminer BeastFNCreative, who previewed a spiked track riddled with obstacles. This indicates that Fortnite Rocket Racing's upcoming Death Race mode may feature strategic, high-risk racing rather than simple speed runs. The track is still in early development, so changes are likely before release.

Other new leaks reveal more potential Death Race details. The mode may allow sabotaging opponents by placing hazards on the track. Spikes and walls to kick players off course are specifically mentioned.

While some worried these new modes would detract from Fortnite's core, they have instead enhanced the overall experience. Rocket Racing and Death Race stand to further diversify gameplay if added wisely.

Fortnite Rocket Racing Death Race Mode Release Date

Many speculate that Death Race could launch in Rocket Racing's first major update in early 2024. It might likely emerge in early February 2024 per the Season 1 roadmap. Epic Games has promised additions like leaderboards, customization, and player-created tracks for Season 1. Integrating Death Race at this time would make sense. The game mode's current lack of popularity compared to LEGO and Festival may be boosted by involving players in track creation.

The validity of a fully functional Death Race mode remains uncertain. However, Fortnite data miners anticipate some form of hazardous rocket racing in the future. If implemented carefully, it could expand Rocket Racing's thrill factor. But again, Epic Games must ensure it doesn't undermine the precise controls that define Fortnite's signature gameplay.
