As excited as I am by the improved UI and “small stories” they’ve added, I think long term I’m really most excited for Modding. It will give this game more scenarios and more stories than 11bit could possibly create on their own...

Factions Overhaul

In Frostpunk 2, players can choose between several factions that can become radical, and you have to make serious negotiations to get laws passed. Before you make choices, you have to think about how they will affect your allies, and carefully map out your research so that it doesn't antagonize anyone.

First playthrough I actually researched way too much into disease creating job heavy stuff just to please the foragers and icebloods that it lost me the run. This is without story still!! I already felt like I was playing a scenario.

Expansive City Management

Your city is growing bigger! Frostpunk 2 introduces district divisions, colonies, and special buildings to lead you to prosperity. While some players feared this feature might make the city feel more shallow and citizens disconnected, others are impressed with the scope of growth and the potential to immerse deeper into the city management aspect of the game.

I'm so excited about the political aspect and colonies. It went from one of my favorite genres, city building, survival, and resource management, to another one of my favorites with city building and politics.
