The Genshin Impact 4.8 Special Program took place yesterday and shared a ton of information about the new version, such as new events, new skins, and more.

It also revealed what every player has been waiting for, the banners for the new version, and which character they can expect to see.

In this article, we’ll go over both phases and show you which 5-star characters you might want to save for in the new version.

NOTE: The dates for the banners in each phase are speculative, and are yet to be officially announced by HoYoverse.

Phase One

The phase one banners in Version 4.8 are set to release alongside the new update, which as of right now is speculated to be on:

July 17, 2024

This date has been reached by taking information on how Genshin Impact proceeds with its update cycles, but at the end of the day, it is still speculative and is subject to change, so take it with a grain of salt.

As for the duration of this phase, it is speculated to be the following:

DURATION
Start Date: July 17, 2024
End Date: August 6, 2024

Both of these dates are speculative and can be changed before the official release of the version.

The same cannot be said about the characters we’ll be getting in phase one, as they have already been officially announced!

The 5-star characters that will appear in phase one of version 4.8 are both rerun characters and are:

  • Navia
  • Nilou

We expected to see Nilou due to the introduction of her new skin, and it would only be right to have her re-run to reap the most benefits. Navia is also a really solid, if not the best Geo DPS character right now, so this phase will certainly be a strong one.

Unfortunately, there is still no information about the rate-up 4-star characters on the banners, but we’ll make sure to update you when information is released.

Phase Two

The second phase of the version is set to release right after the end of phase one, meaning that we can expect a likely release on August 6, 2024.

The second phase is expected to run for 21 days as usual, which means that we can speculate on the following schedule:

DURATION
Start Date: August 6, 2024
End Date: August 27, 2024

These dates are speculation and are yet to be officially confirmed, so take this information with a grain of salt.

The developers have confirmed that this phase will feature the new 5-star Dendro character Emilie, so those who have been wanting her are in luck, as you will have a lot of time to save up.

Alongside Emilie, we will see the rerun of Yelan, who is still one of the best 5-star Hydro characters to date and a character that can fit into almost any team, so you might want to keep your eyes open out for her.

We still do not have information about the 4-star rate-up characters for this phase, but we will make sure to update you whenever they are announced.
