Genshin Impact 5.3: Four New Characters

The livestream for Genshin Impact 5.3 revealed a ton of information about the upcoming version. Amidst the new Archon Quest, new events, and the Lantern Rite festival, we also received notice and details about four new upcoming characters that players will get their hands on in Version 5.3. These four include the Pyro Archon, Mavuika, Citlali, Lan Yan, and, most importantly, the Pyro Traveler! Discover more details about each of them below.

Mavuika

Mavuika is a 5-star Pyro character. She is the Pyro Archon and the leader of Natlan. Mavuika can be used as both an on-field and off-field character. She offers a great deal of support to allies by providing them with great buffs and amazing Pyro application. On top of this, Mavuika’s motorcycle is a mix of almost all of the movement abilities of other Natlan characters, making her one amazing character for exploration. If you’ve been playing Genshin for a while, you should already know that the Archons are some of the most powerful characters in the game, and Mavuika is no exception. Having her on your roster will certainly open up a ton of teams and possibilities for the future, so if you have some primos lying around, you might just want to try your luck.

Citlali

Citlali is the other 5-star character that will be making an appearance in Version 5.3. She is a new Cryo character that specialises in shields and buffing allies. While Cryo has been one of the weaker elements in Genshin Impact and one that does not offer many synergies with other elements, Citlali is proving to be a decent shielder and a great support for many teams. Although Cryo has been lacking recently, we can expect to see more from this element as Sneznaya is getting ever so closer. As such, you might want to keep an eye out for how Citlali performs when she’s released.

Lan Yan

Lan Yan is an Anemo 4-star character that will become available in Version 5.3. She is a unique Catalyst user who uses chakrams to fight. Similar to Citlal, Lan Yan is expected to be a decent shielder with off-field damage capabilities. She is looking like she’d be a good Anemo support to have on your team, but as any 4-star character, we shouldn’t get our hopes too high, as she might be good at C6, and we know how hard getting that will be. Regardless, Lan Yan will be an interesting addition to the roster, and for those of you who want to get her but don’t want to pull, you can still get her from the 4-star selector that will be available during the Lantern Rite event!

Pyro Traveler

The final character that will be added in Version 5.3 is the Pyro version of our beloved Traveler. Similar to the previous Traveler element, the Pyro Traveler will be a lesser version of the Archon, Mavuika herself. As such, the Pyro Traveler will function as sort of a Pyro support that is also capable of dealing decent burst damage to enemies. The best thing about the Pyro Traveler is that they will be free to obtain, and their constellations will be easy to get. As such, you might want to start saving up some resources so that you can try out the Pyro Traveler when they get released!
