Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising's new playable character, Beatrix, has been added in addition to updates aimed at making matchmaking smoother, a button configuration update for backstep, and other bug fixes.

New Granblue Fantasy Versus DLC Character
Beatrix has been added as a playable character in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. Society agent and contractor of the seal weapon Embrasque, Beatrix's ferocity when facing primal beasts is rivaled only by her insatiable hunger for glory, a haphazard combination that often lands her in sticky situations.
Beatrix has been added as a Premium Avatar. A music track, weapon skins, badges, titles, card design, stickers, weapon cutouts, and Figure Studio poses and expressions for Beatrix have been added as well. Beatrix must be unlocked as a playable character to access these features (except stickers).
Beatrix has been added to the Rupie Shop under Special Content. Purchases made via the Special Content tab do not come with a bonus serial code.
(PS5/PS4 only) Beatrix Purchase Bonus added to the Serial Codes screen in the Options menu.

Battles and Online Matches
An input option for backstepping (←＋dash button, when facing right) has been added to the Button Configuration menu in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
- When turned on: Backsteps can be performed by pressing the dash button while holding back.
- When turned off: Pressing the dash button will result in a forward dash regardless of directional input.
*This setting is set to off by default.
Cygames have also adjusted Ranked Matches so that players are more likely to be matched with an opponent closer to their rank, which is a welcome change. Versus Ranks have also been adjusted so that if a player is Master rank with any given character, other characters’ ranks will be affected starting from rank S+5.
They mention that this adjustment aims to help mitigate players being matched against opponents of a significantly different skill level between ranks A and S.
Lunalu (the random select option) has also been tempered so she can work properly in online play, but she can no longer be selected in online matches on the Free Edition of the game.
An option for players to show or hide the total matches played when editing their profile card has been added.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Training Mode
Cygames added the option to use Training mode while on standby for a Room Match in GBF Versus: Rising; however, it is not available if the matchup setting is set to Shuffle Match.
The frame display in Training mode has been adjusted to be totaled after landing for accuracy, as total frames and frame advantage previously did not match.
GBF Store
Beatrix's (Original Ver.) character illustration has been added to the Rupie Shop together with 2 new card designs and the Knight’s Finery (Lancelot) costume in GBF Versus: Rising. The costume is also available for purchase on each respective platform’s store page.
