Thalamus can be quite difficult to obtain in Hades 2, as you will need to have progressed several hours into the game before you can have the option to obtain it. This resource will help you a ton to survive the late game stages so make sure to have your Silver Shovel handy.

You will need to grow Thalamus from Origin Seeds in Hades 2, located in the Chaos Realm. You can enter the Chaos Realm through Chaos Gates, small holes that emit black smoke. You will need to take damage to be able to enter them, but you can also pay gold at a Well of Charon to spawn one.

Once inside the Chaos Realm, you can find Origin Seeds by digging up mounds of dirt. You will then need to ensure you have the Flourishing Soil Incantation to be able to plant the seeds in plots of soil in The Crossroads.

After completing seven stages during a run, your Origin Seeds will grow into Thalamus. You can also wait in the hot springs and Taverna.

Once you have your hands on some Thalamus, you can finish the Unraveling A Fateful Bond Incantation that will allow you to survive the damage you take on the Surface.

This is important, as you can also gather Bronze in Hades 2 on the Surface so it is wise to invest some time into growing Thalamus. And that is everything you need to know about Thalamus in Hades 2.

Currently, there is no other use for the material, but the devs might add more uses as Early Access slowly starts ramping up into the official release.
