The long-awaited expansion of Hearthstone - Whizbang's Workshop was released a few days ago on March 19, 2024, and delivered 145 new cards to the players. We met a lot of new faces but some cards are revisited versions of some well-known cards from previous years. In this article, we will look into the ten new Priest cards and explain their flavor texts.
As you may know, every card in Hearthstone has its own "flavor" text which is a specific pun, reference, or joke related to the art or the name of the card. Some "serious" cards have a deeper flavor text that might reveal more about the lore or set the tone of the character. You can see this flavor text when you click on a card in your "My Collection" tab in the game.

Purifying Power
- Rarity: Common
- Race: Beast
- Flavor text: I sure do love making my minions better!
- Flavor text explanation: This flavor text jokingly highlights the enjoyment of the caster (or whoever is using this card) into making minions better and "purifying" them.
Careless Crafter
- Rarity: Common
- Race: Troll
- Flavor text: How about YOU try folding paper with only three fingers!?
- Flavor text explanation: It is a well-known fact that Trolls in WoW and Hearthstone have only three fingers. Sadly, this seems to be a huge disadvantage to Trolls who want to engage in origami and other craft activities despite their efforts.
Papercraft Angel
- Rarity: Common
- Flavor text: Warcraft. StarCraft. And now, Papercraft!
- Flavor text explanation: This is a self-aware joke from Blizzard that points out how their games commonly include the word "craft". Now in the Whizbang's Workshop Set filled with arts and crafts, this word finds its way again into this card's name.

Scale Replica
- Rarity: Rare
- Race: Dragon
- Flavor text: Get it!?! It's because dragons have hides - commonly known as scales - and this is a model of a dragon on a smaller level, also known as a scale. IT'S THE SAME WORD!
- Flavor text explanation: Here the flavor text simply explains the wordplay in the card name.
Fly Off the Shelves
- Rarity: Rare
- Race: Dragon
- Flavor text: No, Whizbang, you can't pass off a poorly-made shelf as a cool Priest spell.
- Flavor text explanation: Although "fly off" is commonly used when an item is being quickly sold out, here the shelf is literally broken which results in the toys falling from it. The flavor text hints that it was Whizbang who tried to cover this problem by making it look cool.
Clay Matriarch
- Rarity: Rare
- Race: Animated object, Dragon
- Flavor text: I hope you didn't need all that purple clay.
- Flavor text explanation: The person who made the Clay Matriarch stole the purple clay that was used to make it. That person makes a snarky comment to the owner of the clay.

Chalk Artist
- Rarity: Epic
- Race: Vulpera
- Flavor text: Well it's either a dragon or a dinosaur - chalk it up to art style.
- Flavor text explanation: In the card art we see a cute Vulpera drawing a chalk picture. The flavor text points out that depending on one's art style, you can see the drawing as either a dragon or a dinosaur. This makes us think that this Vulpera might not be the most skillful painter but it enjoys drawing.
Repackage
- Rarity: Epic
- Race: Worgen
- Flavor text: I don't want to play with you anymore.
- Flavor text explanation: The card art and flavor text both refer to Toy Story where Andy put his toys in a box after he grew up and stopped playing with them.
Raza the Resealed

- Race: Ethereal, Murloc, Tol'vir
- Flavor text: The 10th-anniversary edition of a classic bestseller!
