Helldivers 2: All New Features in the Chemical Agents Warbond Update

Despite the controversy surrounding the game, there is still a steady player base actively logging in to fulfill their duty and fight for freedom in the corrupt and treacherous galaxy. Nevertheless, the developers recently added some new content to Helldivers 2, and with the feedback being mostly positive, we might see a new resurgence. 

With that in mind, we will go over all of the new features added in the Chemical Agents Warbond update so if you haven't tuned in for a while, this might be your chance to freshen up your skills and take up the torch of a Helldiver in this co-op shooter. 

New Warbond Weapons

Players will get their hands on some cool new weapons that will surely have you gassed up to try. It looks like the developers are honing in on providing specific options for different scenarios, rather than adding a one-gun-fits-all principle. 

•  New Tertiary Weapon: a Chemical Gas-Thrower, designated as "TX-41 Sterilizer"
• New Secondary: a Healing Pistol, designated as "P-11 Stim Pistol"
• New Throwable: a Gas Grenade, named "G-4 Gas"
• New Drone: an Acid-Thrower Robotic Companion Drone that is deployed, designated as AX/TX-13 "Guard Dog" Dog Breath
• New Perk: "Advanced Filtration" which reduces toxic gas damage to the player

The theme of this update is centered around chemical warfare, so you can eradicate any enemy that comes your way without having to take a breather. It seems that the devs are looking to provide weaponry designated to be better in terms of utility, rather than damage, providing more strategic opportunities to utilize your game knowledge and skills.

New Warbond Armor and Cosmetics

Along with some shiny new toys to play with, the devs also added new armor and armor perks along with some cool cosmetics to show off your swagger. 

• "AF-50 Noxious Ranger" Armor Set
• "AF-02 Haz-Master" Armor Set
• 2 New Player Banners
• 2 New Capes
• 2 New Emotes & Victory Poses
• 1 Player Title

Although the content of this new update is rather lackluster, some players are happy with the new features, whilst other members of the Helldivers 2 community are beginning to worry about the future of the game, as not only has the frequency of updates dwindled, but it seems the quality is starting to get affected as well.

Helldivers 2 Recent Warbonds Criticism

Many players have been openly discussing their disappointment behind the most recent Warbonds, not only due to the seemingly lack of sufficient content to warrant a Warbond, but also other the matter of execution. Most of the devs' ideas are great but lack that needed oomph to make them shine so that the community feels incentivized to jump back into the action.

War bonds are kinda in a "growing pains" era since they shifted how they're making them...

First, apparently "stratagems in war bonds" isn't new as it was something they did in the first game...

Second, the more recent war bonds are suffering from growing pains due to a shift in how the team approaches them. After Polar Patriots and the backlash from it of "the content doesn't match the theme", Arrowhead stated going forward they would do their best to make sure content in war bonds stayed on theme.

Some are more level-headed and understand that the devs have changed their approach to content updates in Helldivers 2.

I think the rate at which content was being released for new warbonds at launch was unsustainable. Both the frequency of releases as well as amount of content in them. But i agree with u, since they slowed down the release schedule getting less content as well feels a bit disappointing...

Personally i think expectations for warbonds are a little high on this sub at the moment. Obviously the devs are gonna have to pad with some cosmetics in order to keep thing sustainable.

Overall, the newest Helldivers 2 Warbond is nothing to write home about, but at least it has the community talking about which aspects can be improved, both in terms of content and in-game balance to ensure that the community is still having fun killing giant space bugs.
