The Helldivers 2 Galactic War rages on, and even months after its official release, new weapons and enemies keep being added to the game. Recently, we had the Cutting Edge Warbond, which featured a few new weapon types for players to try out, with the overall theme centered around the energy damage type. A few campaign missions later, we learned that bugs can, in fact, fly with the Shrieker enemy type starting to appear in different operations.
It seems like the dynamic campaign is continuing in this direction, and the Automaton faction is receiving two new units in today's update, with the Factory Strider and the Gunship joining the fray. Players were already having trouble against this faction and these new enemies are sure to add even more variety. Here is everything you need to know about the brand new enemies in Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2: New Gunship Automaton Enemy Type
The first of the two new enemy types is the Gunship, which, similar to the Shriekers, are going to add a new layer of verticality to the game. Gunships are usually not alone, with 2 to 4 of them actively moving together around the battlefield. They have a substantial amount of armor, and we suggest using EAT-17s or the newly added Quasar Cannon against them. Gunships also patrol around Automaton bases and attempt to find players by using their scanners.
Upon locating Helldivers, they will fire rockets and energy rounds. We currently don't have any information on which difficulty setting they will start appearing in, but we can assume that it will be around the medium levels.

Helldivers 2: New Factory Strider Automaton Enemy Type
The second enemy type that was added to the game is the Factory Strider, which is a mobile and heavy enemy type, very reminiscent of the AT-AT Walkers from Star Wars. The Factory Strider is the strongest Automaton enemy to date, with heavy armor, multiple cannons, and laser mini-guns as weapons. The Strider is also able to spawn Devastator enemies under it, making it a high-priority target in almost any situation. Be prepared to use many Stratagems if you want to take out the Factory Strider, as there is limited information on any of its weak points at this time.
Those were all of the new enemy types that were added with today's update of Helldivers 2. It's going to be interesting to see how players will adapt to both of these enemies, as the Automaton faction was already much harder to deal with compared to the Terminids.
