Helldivers 2 was built with crossplay in mind, and teaming up with players from PC to PlayStation is as simple as it is seamless. So, what's the hold up with Xbox? Integrating Microsoft consoles should be easy, shouldn't it?

Helldivers 2 Xbox Possible Release Date?

Bad news Xbox gamers. Helldivers 2 may have been developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, but games require publishers too. The original Helldivers game was published by Sony Computer Entertainment, meaning the Helldivers IP is firmly under the PlayStation umbrella. This means that it is highly unlikely for Helldivers 2 to have an Xbox release.

It is very rare indeed that a game published under the PlayStation IP list ever finds its way to Xbox. In fact, even the original Helldivers game which was similarly released for PC and PlayStation is still not playable for Xbox players 9 years later. If history is, therefore, anything to go by, the probability that Sony will soften their grasp over Helldivers 2 seems exceptionally unlikely.
