Honkai Star Rail version 2.3 is just around the corner, and apart from the new characters, new endgame mode, and everything else, we also received news that there will be two new artifact sets, as well as two new planar ornament sets for us to grind and spend our stamina on.
Today we’ll go over these four new sets, what they do, and if they’re worth your time and nerves.
Table of Contents
New Artifact Sets
The two new artifact sets are:
- Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
- The Wind-Soaring Valorous
You will be able to find these sets in a new domain that will be available in the new area of version 2.3, which will be accessible through the final part of the Penacony story, so if you have to finish that, do find some time, as you won’t be able to start farming them.
Below, you can see the effects that these two new sets have:
Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
- 2-Piece: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
- 4-Piece: If the wearer's Break Effect is 150% or higher, ignores 10% of the enemy target's DEF when dealing Break DMG to them. When the wearer's Break Effect is 250% or higher, the Super Break DMG they deal to enemy targets additionally ignores 15% of the targets' DEF.
The Wind-Soaring Valorous
- 2-Piece: ATK increases by 12%.
- 4-Piece: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 6%. When the wearer uses a follow-up attack, increase the DMG dealt by their Ultimate by 36%, lasting for 1 turn(s).
Overall, both sets look amazing, and it is clear that they are geared towards Firefly and Jade. Despite this, [Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge] can easily be placed on Boothill to give him a really solid boost in damage and is without a doubt going to be his new best-in-slot.
[The Wind-Soaring Valorous] is slightly more niche, but we can see it being used on characters such as Jing Yuan and Dr. Ratio, who will be able to benefit from the increase in ultimate damage. Even those who wish to build Aventurine with DPS in mind might want to look at it.

New Planar Ornaments
With version 2.3, the Simulated Universe will be getting a ton of changes, such as an easier way to farm planar ornaments, a huge addition of new features, curios, and most importantly, two new planar ornament sets. The two new sets are called:
- Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
- Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern
You will be able to farm these in the new Simulated Universe mode, and these sets come with the following effects:
Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
- 2-Piece: When allies use follow-up attacks, the wearer receives 1 stack of Merit, stacking up to 5 times. Every stack of Merit increases the DMG dealt by the wearer's follow-up attacks by 5%. When there are 5 stacks, additionally increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 25%.
Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern
- 2-Piece: Increase the wearer's SPD by 6%. When the wearer hits enemy targets with Fire Weakness, the wearer's Break Effect increases by 40%, lasting for 1 turn(s).
They are clearly oriented towards the new characters coming in 2.3: Firefly and Jade, but they can definitely be used on some older characters to give them a good boost in strength.
For example, the Duran set can easily be used on Jing Yuan to further boost his damage and is likely to become his best-in-slot. The Forge set is slightly more niche, but it can definitely find some use.
