Trailblazers, it is finally here. After numerous versions later, we have finally received confirmation for a brand new release of Herta, and this time it’s not just any Herta, but The Herta. Honkai: Star Rail has at last revealed the true form of the master of the Herta Space Station. Ever since the game’s release, Herta has been a recurring character in the Honkai: Star Rail story, and it just didn’t seem fitting for such a canonically powerful character to only be a 4-star character. Well, that is no more, as the developers have announced that in Version 2.8, Herta will be getting an upgrade and will appear as an entirely new 5-star character.

The Herta
The Herta is a 5-star Ice character following the Path of Erudition. The Herta follows the same element and Path as the original Herta but will be a limited 5-star character with her unique character banner and an entirely new set of skills. The 4-star Herta we’ve been using to help in our Pure Fiction runs happens to be nothing more than a puppet of the real Herta. So when the real Herta received a new title from the Intelligentsia Guild naming her [Herta Prime] to try and separate from her puppets, Herta decided to snap back and call herself [The Herta] to make it known once and for all who the real one is.
The Herta looks to use a taller female model in comparison to her 4-star equivalent, and instead of using a hammer, this time we can see her wielding an enormous staff. In addition, she is wearing a huge magician’s hat while being surrounded by all kinds of fantastical mirrors, adding to the magician theme. Just looking at her almost makes me feel like I’m back exploring Penacony. Although nothing is known about her kit as of yet, we can make some assumptions that The Herta will be an AoE damage dealer due to following the Path of Erudition. Apart from this, we can also speculate that there will be interesting magical elements tied into her kit due to all of the magic shown in her drip marketing.

When Will The Herta Be Released?
If we are to follow the standard way miHoYo and Honkai: Star Rail go about their drip marketing, we can speculate that The Herta will be introduced and become playable in the first phase of Version 2.8. There haven’t been any cases where the drip marketing has been misleading with its information, so it is highly likely that The Herta will appear in phase one. What does this mean? Well, it means that you will have about two months to save up if you want to get a copy of The Herta and her Light Cone. Will she be worth it, you ask? Well, we do not know at this stage. This question will be answered when we get more information about her kit and what she does, so be sure to be on the lookout for that!
