Skins Added to Honkai: Star Rail
Leakers have revealed that Version 3.0 of Honkai: Star Rail will finally add skins to the game. The topic of skins has been an ongoing one in the leaking communities. It started some versions back with mentions of a Kafka skin being in the works, but unfortunately, nothing came out of it. Luckily, this time the situation is different. Leakers have confirmed that a March 7th skin is scheduled to be released in Version 3.0. This skin will be available for March 7th’s Preservation Path and will feature altered skill effects.

How Skins Will Work in Honkai: Star Rail
While we only have crumbs to go off so far, it is safe to speculate that skins in Honkai: Star Rail will work similarly to what we’ve experienced in Genshin Impact. From leakers, we know that March 7th’s skin will feature altered skill effects, which is something that we have only seen in Diluc’s skin in Genshin Impact. Having said that, it is also possible that March 7th’s skin is an exception and that future skins will not have altered skill effects. From previous leaks about skins in Honkai: Star Rail, we know that the skins will be featured in a separate [Skin] menu in the shop and that characters will have different skins for different paths.
As of right now, the leakers are speculating that March 7th’s skin is unlikely to be free and that we will have to dish out our wallets to get it. That being said, given that this March 7th skin is expected to have altered skill effects, we can speculate that future skins, which do not have such altered skill effects, may be free and obtainable through events, similar to how some skins are in Genshin Impact.

Possible Future Skins
While March 7th’s skin has already been confirmed and is set that it will be coming out in version 3.0, there has been information about other skins circling around the leaker community for quite some months now. The most major of those is in regards to a Kafka skin that was teased some time back. Kafka is one of Star Rail’s most popular characters, and it is not hard to see why. While having dropped in the meta, she is still a viable pick for any DoT team, and you only need one look at her to know that a skin for her would sell well.
In addition to Kafka, there is also a leak from 10 months ago by Uncle Writer that suggests that apart from March 7th, there are also skins in the works for characters such as Welt and Himeko. This leaker also suggests that the developers are currently working on swimsuit skins for both Seele and Bronya. Note that none of this information has been confirmed, and there have been no hints of this in recent months, so take it with a huge grain of salt. That being said, the idea of skins in Honkai: Star Rail is certainly an appealing one, and we can’t wait to see what the developers will come up with in the future.
