Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 will mark the second anniversary of the game. During its first anniversary, Honkai: Star Rail let us choose from a standard 5-star unit, but it seems like they’re going even wilder this year, so wild that they are even letting us choose between two great characters that will certainly find a spot in any account.

Which Characters Can We Get?
The second anniversary will present us with a limited event that will allow us to claim either Ruan Mei or Luocha for free! That’s right; if you’ve been unlucky to get either of these powerhouses of supports, then this event will be your saving grace, as you won’t have to rely on the RNG gods. You can simply choose which of the two units you’d like to have on your account. Both Luocha and Ruan Mei will be available for you to claim until the end of Version 3.4, so you'd better log in at least once during this time to claim one of them for free!
The event is available for any player who is above level 4 and only requires you to log in once!

How to Claim a Free Character
Once you log into Star Rail after the release of Version 3.2, you will be rewarded with a Golden Companion Spirit. You can use this Golden Companion Spirit item to exchange for either Ruan Mei Luocha in the appropriate event store. It is also worth noting that you can use this Golden Companion Spirit to claim not only Luocha and Ruan Mei but also any of the other permanent 5-star characters:
- Himeko
- Welt
- Bronya
- Gepard
- Clara
- Yanqing
- Bailu
Each of these characters costs 1 Golden Companion Spirit, so make your choice wisely!

Who to Pick
We generally advise you to go for either Luocha or Ruan Mei, as you can eventually get the remaining units in the shop. However, between Ruan Mei and Luocha, the choice is not that easy. Both are great support units that excel in various situations. If you feel like your account is lacking survivability, then Luocha is the way to go. If you feel you are lacking damage, then you might want to look into Ruan Mei, as she can allow for double DPS teams, greatly increasing your overall damage output. Both units are great, so at this point it is only a matter of preference and what you have on your account.
