During the Version 2.7 livestream, the developers behind Honkai: Star Rail announced that they will be adding a new item in Version 3.0, which item will be known as [Wishful Resin]. This item will help players by allowing them to not only choose a Relic’s main stat but also its sub-stats.

What is Wishful Resin
Wishful Resin is a new item that will be added to Honkai: Star Rail in Version 3.0. It will allow players to configure a Relic’s Subsidiary Stats of items such as the:
- Body
- Feet
- Sphere
- Link Rope

How to Use
Wishful Resin is an item that must always be used alongside Self-Modeling Resin when crafting Relic. It cannot be used by itself to only set the sub-stats for Relics. This also means that Wishful Resin cannot be used on the Hand and Head-type Relics. That being said, if you do decide to use it in conjunction with Self-Modeling Resin you can achieve some great results.
When you combine both items, you will be able to choose both the main stat and subsidiary stats of your Relics. How this works is that you will consume 1 Self-Modeling Resin to choose the main stat and 1 Wishful Resin to choose 1 subsidiary stat. If you want to choose more subsidiary stats, such as 2, for example, you will need to use 4 Wishful Resin. You can find a breakdown of this in the table below.

How to Get Wishful Resin
After version 3.0, players can obtain Wishful Resin in the four following ways:
Nameless Honor (Battle Pass)
Starting from the Version 3.0 Battle Pass, Wishful Resin will be obtained for free by completing weekly or periodic missions and reaching the designated level. In addition, you’ll be able to obtain even more Wishful Resin if you get the premium version of the battle pass.
Synthesis
Players will be able to synthesize Relic Remains to get Wishful Resin. You will need to spend 800 Relic Remains to get 1 Wishful Resin, and you will only be able to synthesize 2 at most.
Exchange
The third way to obtain Wishful Resin is through exchanging Self-Modeling Resins for it. You will be able to exchange Self-Modeling Resin for Wishful Resin at a rate of 1-to-1, with 3 of these exchanges available each month.
Others
Lastly, players will be able to obtain Wishful Resin by completing certain pieces of content. More information on this will be revealed in the future.
