Recruiting and managing villagers is a big part of growing your settlement in the popular LEGO Fortnite game. However, you may need to remove villagers at times to make room for new recruits. This guide covers everything you need to know on how to add and remove villagers in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Add Villagers
Once you construct the Village Square, daily visitors will hang around it during daylight hours.
- Talk with wanderers and convince them to stick around until the evening.
- If there is an available bed and enough open village slots, you can add the visitor to live in your village permanently.
Leveling up the Village Square unlocks more space for villagers. Recruited NPCs can lend their might in fights, gather supplies, or even join you on quests.

How to Remove Villagers
Since there's no menu option to directly ‘fire’ your villagers, you've got to take an indirect approach - destroy the bed tagged to the villager you want gone.
- Check the floating labels over beds to see who's bunking where.
- Once you smash their mattress, the banished villager will move on after a couple of in-game days, leaving a spot open for a new recruit.
- You'll need to rebuild a bed so replacement villagers have a place to sleep.

Summary
Action | Method |
---|---|
Add Villagers | Chat with visitors at the Village Square. Recruit them if there's space and beds |
Remove Villagers | Destroy the specific bed assigned to the villager you want to remove |
The only way to remove villagers is by destroying their assigned beds. After a couple of days, that villager will leave and free up space for a new recruit, for which you'll need to rebuild a bed. With the Village Square upgrades, you can have up to 5 NPC villagers providing valuable services for your virtual LEGO village.
