Winterfest officially began on December 20 in Fortnite and will run until January 7. This festive event brings a wealth of new content across all game modes, and players can enjoy daily rewards by opening one present per day at the Winterfest Lodge.

Beyond the gifts, there’s more fun to be had with the Wintervestigation questline. Every two days, you’ll receive a new case to solve, which rewards you with tons of XP—helping you level up your Battle Pass quickly. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to complete every Wintervestigation case in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1.

The Wintervestigation questline is divided into different cases, with a new case unlocking every two days. Currently, two cases are available, with the third unlocking later today. Follow these steps to get started:

Get assigned to a case:

Visit the SGT. Winter NPC and select the Wintervestigation option. He will send you to talk to Noir, who will assign your first case. Check the map image below for the exact location.

Case #17: The Unknown Traveler

Talk to Noir on the top floor

Speak with Noir to accept the first case.

Follow the trail

Noir will send you to investigate three items along a trail. Interact with each item to complete this step. These items are located just south of the Brutal-Boxcars Named Location. Use the map image below for their precise locations.

Question the unknown traveler

After completing the trail, talk to the unknown traveler, who turns out to be none other than Santa Dogg himself! You’ll find him next to the third clue.

Return to Noir with your findings

Report back to Noir to complete the case.

Case #29: The Sporty Smuggler

Talk to Noir for your next assignment

Accept the new case from Noir.

Investigate tampered basketball equipment

Locate three tampered basketball items and interact with them. Their exact locations are marked on the map below.

Go to the address listed on the charity receipt

After gathering all clues, visit the address on the receipt, which points to Masked Meadows Named Location.

Question the mysterious sponsor

Talk to the next suspect, found at the basketball court in Masked Meadows.

Return to Noir with your findings

Report back to Noir to wrap up the case.

Case #31: The Cat Burglar

Talk to Noir to accept the next case
Investigate Canyon Crossing, collecting info about the suspected cat burglar

Your task is to investigate three different clues about a cat burglary in three stores at the Canyon Crossing named location.

Confront the sick and twisted individual

After gathering all three clues, simply talk to the nearby NPC.

Return to Noir with your findings

Report back to Noir to wrap up the case.

Talk to Noir to accept the next case
Investigate Twinkle Town, collecting info about the yeast supplementing faker

Go to Twinkle Town and interact with the three clues.

Confront the suspsect directly

Collect info about the Suburban Saboteur in Hopeful Heights

Simply interact with the three items for investigation in Hopeful Heights.

Find the Secret files for Sgt. Winter's Naughty or Nice list

For the final quest you need to go to Foxy Floodgate's waterfall. Either go from the bottom up and jump on one of the platforms or you can access it by jumping form the top.

Break the sewer door and go inside, follow the white exclamation marks

Check the list one more time...

After interacting with the three items, interact once again with the big list.

Confront Sgt. Winter

Go back to Sgt. Winter to finish the final case.
