In the early stages of Starfield's main storyline, you'll encounter the Back to Vectera quest, leading you back to the mining planet, Vectera, where the game's tutorial took place. Your mission: track down Barrett, Constellation's beloved scientist, who has mysteriously vanished. To achieve this, you'll need to follow a metaphorical trail of breadcrumbs.
However, you might encounter a roadblock when tasked with listening to "Emergency Transmission 02." Unlike Fallout, where you'd use your Pip-Boy to tune into a radio station, your spacesuit in Starfield lacks an FM receiver. Thankfully, resolving this objective is simpler than it appears.
How to Listen to Emergency Transmission in Back to Vectera
Listening to Emergency Transmission 02 is a straightforward process. Contrary to an active radio broadcast, which might be the cause of confusion, Emergency Transmission 02 is merely an audio slate nestled within your inventory. You'll find it under the Notes subsection. To complete this task, follow these steps:
- Access your inventory.
- Navigate to the Notes subsection.
- Locate Emergency Transmission 02 in the list of collected notes.
- Click on it to listen to the next part of Barrett's story.
With that accomplished, you're back on the trail to locate Barrett and potentially uncover a deeper connection along the way. The rest of the quest unfolds relatively smoothly and offers a few amusing surprises, which we won't spoil here. Be assured, though, that this is the primary challenge within the quest. And for future reference, when Starfield prompts you to interact with something lacking an objective marker, the answer often resides in your inventory.
